Is the knee where the ball hit him in the dugout or was it due to his slide at the plate? Super Joe should not had sent him with no outs and also risk a collision at the plate.

am I allowed to ask what's up with the velocity from Crochet?  93 and 94 mph fastballs

I saw a 96 sprinkled in there, and a 97...but..Crochet is what he is, at this point (IMO), and that is a bullpen guy, not a promising starter.

Am I also wrong to say, "Please no Kopech tonight". ?

We can’t catch a break with the injuries this year. You know it’s bad when your own player hits a line drive in the dugout and it happens to hit a teammate.

You know I was thinking half jokingly but now maybe a little more seriously, if they maintain their lead the next couple weeks maybe TLR could just pull the team and forfeit the last week and a half.

Back in 1981 or so he caught hell for suggesting he would be willing to forfeit a game to get into the playoffs under the quirky split season rules.

Ok, there's my entry for most ridiculous post of the year.

Crochet was pitching 100 mph last year. Where did that go?

I'm not sure why you are saying Crochet is a bullpen guy.

the top of the order had good swings against him.

Oh sure. But with 80% of the rotation either hurt or underperforming I was feeling greedy. Sox pen has a lot of innings to cover in the next two weeks.

died on this very field

Because he is basically a 2 pitch pitcher, with a lot less velo than he presented with originally.

Vaughn fails once again in the same spot

I've learned to like Leury. I hope he makes the postseason roster. I assume he's earned his MLB pension which is nice. It's not that easy to hit .260 in the big leagues and field OK, too.

There are reasons to think Crochet can't be a starting pitcher. Hopefully, those things swing back upwards.

I can't wait till Vaughn actually mashes with RISP. For now though.. he's just bad in those situations.

Vaughn putrid.

Might not be playable in the ALDS if Engel is healthy.

Andrew Yawn.

Dreaded leadoff walk. Gosh darn it.

It would help if Tepera would throw strikes, or at least competitive pitches.

C'mon Ryan...I want to keep feeling good when you come into games.

Tepara is the silent assassin in the bullpen.  Nobody talks about him or notices him but he's fucking deadly.

Excellent job by Tepera after the breakthrough walk

Tepera nasty with that sword on Olson. Olson doesn't get fooled like that often, set him up well.

Nice play Jose.

if he gets two strikes on righties before the slider, they have no chance

Well, Jo Adell is a rookie that hits with RISP and 2 outs :)
