Can't believe they're pitching Velazquez for the home opener. At least Keuchel is a name.

Eloy gets such a big pass for wildly underachieving expectations that other guys on the team don't receive

The less Grandal catches the better.

I did like Eloy's plan to take out Brash.

That grounder was 113 off the bat

Brash very good and very composed and quite frankly maybe its good vaughn isnt out there chasing sliders in the dirt like the rest of the group. The guy looks damn good .

Ok so hear me out..... how do we feel about trading Andrew Vaughn for Matt Brash

Nah what am I saying, they'd never trade Brash for a platoon player

Sheets can’t be hitting that pitch on the ground

The Sox are really going to need another quality starter if they expect to make a serious run this year. How they go about doing that is up for debate but the fact they need to do it shouldn't be at all.

Yep, just look at the pitching matchups this series. It’s going to get ugly this month.

For a little guy Brash really gets down the mound.  Dude's an athlete.

Sox as a lineup hit too many ground balls.

Rewatching Brash's breaking pitch it has one of the latest and hardest breaks I've seen in a while.

Just as true if not more so for Eloy

Eloy stop hitting everything on the ground back up the middle challenge

I like his swing this year, but he still seems too far off the plate.

What an awful trade by Preller

Nothing sees to have changed from a process perspective, but he is talented enough to overcome it at least

Preller always screws the Sox somehow

but you see the answer is too simple not swing at it, and attack fastballs

Apparently we're just calling every off-speed pitch today a knuckle curve.

I have to watch this game on the Mariners Root network as the are are blackout restrictions. I am already tired of their broadcasters

VV has bad command of his fastball.  He’s either missing with it or putting it in a position to get crushed.  Mariners have had quite a few meatballs to hit so far.

They're also calling 91 MPH fastballs change ups.

Really really bad command. But I think that's just a career problem at this point.

It would seem with VV giving up two walks and a homer in about three innings that he is on his usual path

Same here. That's the third time I've heard 'Nationside is on your side' slipped into the stream.

My god he's so slow at pitching too.

He's laboring out there now. It's gonna be a tough time the 2nd time through.
