Luis Robert mild groin strain, status TBD

So for the time being Engel will probably play CF full time with Pollock in RF. I bet Leury will get reps in CF as well. Haseley will probably play more than he should too.

Was anybody in the training staff fired from last year?  I thought I remembered seeing that somebody was, but I see James Kruk is still there since taking over for Brian Ball in 2020.

Allen Thomas did. He was the director of strength and conditioning.

Can we go back and draft his son now

Ahh yes, this was it, thanks.

I can see TLR running Pollock in CF cause he's played there in the past before. Little does he know, Pollock is almost 35.

If anybody needs to be babied like TLR babied the team yesterday, it's Pollock.

Should have spent Leury’s money on bringing back Herm.

We will definitely see Haseley a few times a week and Leury out there as well.  This lineup is loaded!

Anyone else notice that Robert always looks like he's wincing? I can never tell if he's in pain or if that's just the face he makes

Him and Yoan all the time, but this seems legit if Tony is already saying IL is possible.

There are grades to strains. It's probably a grade 1 or maybe even less than that.

Less than grade 1? Are there fractional grades?

Okay, I am more educated now. It's just when someone says "groin," it never sounds good to me. Sick of the injuries.

Over/under on the number of innings we see Mendick in CF over the next 7 days?

To see it we'll have to be watching

So here is a thought TLR you fuckin moron.

lets just play the players and stop sitting them - shit isn't working.

Its fucking infuriating.

Just do it tomorrow when Pollock is back.

I think I’d rather it have been an ankle than a groin or hamstring, no? Those could linger all season

Muscle strains do linger more than ligaments sprains

How can you have a minor groin strain?

A tiny tear.

Yep, Tony said IL is a possibility.  What a total disaster this has been.

I'm sure this early in the season they will be very conservative.

i dont understand how this team gets so many aches and pains and injuries

Very tight (musculofacial) players.

Isnt this a minor form of the injury he had last year? Wonder if there is some relation to it.

Last year was a hip flexor.  They are more anterior in the hip. If this is truly "groin l" they are more the medial area lime the abductor longus or gracilis.

This isn't the job of the athletic training staff. This is more the strength and conditioning people who create and run the conditioning/ injury prevention programs. The athletic training group treat the injuries once they occur.

Correct.
