I hate games like this where it looks like it is over early and you feel like tuning out.

I think we win this.  Big Pollock game coming.     So if we go like 36-5 in our next 41 games that puts us at 62-32, 30 games over.

  • At this point you gotta just play your best players. The lefties and switch hitters have all been worthless. A platoon advantage doesn't do shit when the guys with the advantage can't get hits. In the

TLR is fucking brain dead. Shades of Ozzie's last year. edit: Just read his quote's on Andrew needing a day off after a "tough series on turf" -- dude, he just  had a day off Monday. He's 24 FFS. It's

Yep he’s totally finished. He will end up like Keuchel where the Sox release him in late May next year.

Have we ever seen a player fall off this quickly to this extent?  I mean, the dude is barely walking even which is his calling card.  Seems like more than just natural regression.

Seems fairly obvious

Depends on Plesac/Civale, health of rotation and using that incredible middle infield depth in their system.

Well....one could guess

0-4 from the lefties against a RHP.  I also can’t remember the last time a lefty homered.

I get Sheets just caught that, but it’s insane balls that they allow him to play RF.

Yoan Moncada is also on this team. Worth 4 WAR and and had a wRC+ over 120 over 3 seasons and now is the worst hitter in baseball.

I think Yoan might get his shit together eventually, but the longer it goes the more I wonder. It's weird how he's just lost it at 27 years old.

Dunn/LaRoche/Keppinger to name a few.

Alonso...although already fading.

Encarnacion see above.

3B, but he can’t play there because the worst hitter in baseball needs to play there

But don't we have a hole at 2B?  And doesn't that "worst hitter in baseball" also play 2B?  If they need to get the worst hitter in baseball in the lineup for some reason, why not use him to plug the hole at 2B?

Andrew McCutcheon is always my reference point for a “Wtf” falloff.

Seriously how long until sheets gets sent down.  He adds absolutely nothing to this team.

Three run deficits frighten you?  Sorry to hear.   ?

Vaughn would not have gotten to that ball.

What’s your theory?  Not trying to challenge either, just flabbergasted how the dude went from arguably our best hitter last year to nearly worst hitter in baseball.

Does defense matter to you or not?

It's possible the dude got his contract and just doesn't give a shit anymore

lets start with getting a runner in scoring position this inning

It was 100 push ups, not 30.

If that was the case, wouldn't he have sucked last year too? He didn't.

At this point, screw it, start Burger at 3B and make Moncada re-earn that spot.

Yoan is clearly not 100% and would be much better if healthy (how much so obviously TBD).  It’s not clear if Grandal is hurting or impacted by offseason surgery, but perhaps there is something there.  Neither guy walking is very weird though.

By qualified at bats, he is the worst by a wide margin at OPS.
