6/27 Sox @ Angels: One Win Changes Nothing, Fire Tony La Russa Into The Sun Gamethread (8:38PM CT, NBCSC)

Do we ever manage to catch those throws at home plate AND make a successful tag without losing the ball?

Seems like something they might want to practice, maybe.

I am deeply truly sorry your precious volatile fragile feelings are so distraught at the mere suggestion that the team should remove a dreadfully underperforming manager.  Perhaps tis not myself that

  • Last time I remember being happy as a Sox fan.  (Not a coincidence, Tony wasn't there) FIRE TONY

  • The manager is the moron for playing a first baseman in right field.

Of course we'd strike out Trout but can't get Taylor Ward.

Wish we had Mullins in CF.  Leury playing right field didn’t help.  Why wasn’t Helseley in RF? Leury is not much better than Sheets defensively and worse offensively.

He's always been bad around the wall honestly. But his speed just isn't the same as it was in 2020.

Even when he won the gold glove, he struggled at the wall.

Ward at least has been over .300 all season.

Hey they told these players to not run that hard to first base. Maybe that applies to the outfield as well. They can’t play hard for the ball if it’s hit hard. Lol

Also took a successful bat out of the liineup.

How is this team so bad at just *catching* the baseball? good lord

LOL we just can't catch the ball.

And Seby had him thrown out but we can't catch the ball

If Robert never returns to 100% this franchise is really doomed.

How does that ball get knocked out of a veteran's glove?

Bad throw there too.

It’s a new Mental and Physical Error every game with this team.  NO FUNDAMENTALS

Each player should take a turn fucking up............oh never mind

Fell out when the glove hit the bag...momentum carried glove there.

Jesus man. Can't make a defensive play.

I miss the days Robert could go get anything in CF. Just hasn’t been that guy since that injury in 21.

Seby doing an amazing job trying to lose us this game by himself. Out on the bases in the top half of the inning. Dropped catch at home in the bottom half and then a bad throw on a easy caught stealing.

Still a game I guess...albeit sense of doom hanging over it.

The extend to which Robert's defense has fallen off the last 2 years is very disappointing.

Outfield positioning has not been good.  Robert also not helped by not having good corner outfielders.  Our OF defense has to be one of the worse in the majors.

It was so fun watching him glide around in CF before the hip injury last year. Hopefully he's still capable of showing that type of range once he's totally healthy.

Harrison had to catch it on the hop, but Josh should have had it. The location of the throw was good aside from the hop.

not giving Carlos Perez a shot when we know Seby is not a major league is just so infuriating to me

A game that’s been pissed away with poor defensive play and fundamentals. Jeez why does that seem like deja vu?
