None of this would be a problem if all those 1B/DHs would slugg their way out of their bad defense as was suppose to be the plan.

Eloy and Vaughn/Sheets were suppose to suck at the corners but would each slugg +.500 to make a difference.

The slugging part hasn't happened.

The lack of power production is insane. Something is very wrong.

I am deeply truly sorry your precious volatile fragile feelings are so distraught at the mere suggestion that the team should remove a dreadfully underperforming manager.  Perhaps tis not myself that

  • Last time I remember being happy as a Sox fan.  (Not a coincidence, Tony wasn't there) FIRE TONY

  • The manager is the moron for playing a first baseman in right field.

Yes. If you don't understand this I can't help you.

Now I know you were serious, however, we need to agree to disagree.  Leury sucks both offensively and defensively and should not have been in on a one run game.

Andrew Vaughn isn't the problem. .476 Slugging, .843 OPS, 140 OPS+.

Leads the team in all three categories.

Leury is not enough of a better outfielder to take Sheets bat out in a one run game.  If  Helseley would have come in, it was more justifiable to have a real outfielder out there.  Leury is not an outfielder and his hitting sucks.

GTFOH with this Monday Morning QB bullshit.

Sheets takes a shit on another ball in the 7 or 8th inning you'd be the first one bitching up a storm on why wasn't he pulled.

Only 90 games left…..

Leury was not even close to the ball.

Leury's defensive versatility is absolutely overrated by this organization.

He's a bad defender at 6 different positions which is impressive in its own way, i guess

You are right, but not for Leury, for a real outfielder like Helseley.

What makes you think that clown is a real OF himself?

That's the same asshat that took out Medick for not calling off a flyball loud enough.   In an empty stadium.

Reyto got squeezed on some calls. That lead-off walk set up the 8th inning for them.

I thought Robert made the same mistake Sheets did. They both altered their stride in anticipation of hitting the wall.

Also the shape of the wall in the corner made that play tough.

Best outcome out of this one today is that Lucas did indeed make himself a little bit more tradeable.

Sheets dropped hit, Sevy base running mistake. Not letting Gio at least start the 7th. Should of faced the first batter.  Bottom of the order was up.  And that’s the game.

ReyLo dreaded lead off walk hurt big time.

Sure, agree to disagree.

They both suck and I wish neither of them were in the game but this is our reality. We stink.

Then why is he still in the majors still and not sent down after the collision?

Richard Hahn

Six hits in late July is LOL bad.

Horrific hitting as well as one reliever getting lit up means a loss. Sox continue to go nowhere 'cause of weak bats and bullpen that on a nightly basis cannot cover 3-4 innings.

(Also as Stoney said the baserunning blunder was huge as well).

Look guys, give it up, as much as I agree that TLR should go, it’s not going to happen this year

Call it the Renteria hex. He probably should never have been axed.

Don't forget the OF defense.

Maybe they should send down Sosa before Menechino screws up his entire future.  I don't believe he was a ground ball machine in AA.

3 words......Frank F'ing Menechino

We lead the free world in opposite field hits, are in the 25th percentile in ground ball rate, launch angle and pitches per AB. That's philosophy and approach and being taught. God help us.

Zavala and Sheets and Robert at only 85-90% and that’s your ballgame.

Seby cost the team arguably two runs all by himself in the span of just an inning or two.

6 1/2 and 3 1/2 back feels even more because we haven’t shown any confidence in beating the two frontrunners yet.

If Zaidi and Kapler really want to rub things in, he will start Rodon on Sunday on normal rest, instead of DeSclafini, who has given up something like 21 runs his last 19 IP.  Even the Giants made a mistake with that extension and letting Gausman go.

That base running blunder was the turning point. The pen is not solid if they have to go 3 innings.

Hopefully MLB will change the division formats before long. Sox are hopeless in this division. Even when healthy the Sox struggle in the Central. I've never been as down on this franchise as now. Hopefully this season is an aberration and the team someday will be exciting again. I do think it's obvious Hahn is in over his head. Even when healthy this team is not built to win. It's a very lousy roster when you consider pitching, defense, speed and hitting. All areas are subpar even when healthy.

Tonight's game was upsetting especially cause when it went to 4-3 it was over. Sox weren't going to score late.

AV should be splitting his time with Abreu at 1B and DH.
