The Sox terrible defense alone will never let them win this year. And that is just one of their weaknesses.

Pollock’s defense has been as bad as Sheets.

  • What bothers me about this post is it totally absolves the rest of the FO, training staff, and players.  It's why I sometimes wonder if the La Russa hire was looked at as a good thing by Hahn and

Look if we aren't going to score runs, we can't give away cheap ones.  Even if Moncada keeps hitting like he was prior to his injury, he is still giving top notch defense at 3rd.

We are looking for both kinds of players 1B AND DH

From what I understand, wasn't Pollock a competent CF?

Five plus years ago...

Just have to hope if Robert somehow comes up again that he doesn't get hurt stretching for a triple if he makes XB contact.

Having to let Abreu walk because Hahn can't construct a roster correctly will be painful.

I don't think they ever thought Eloy would phase out of being an OF this early in his career.  That's the problem right there.

Vaugh and Abreu sharing 1B/DH would have been fine.

Won a gold glove in center field.

I puzzled and puzzled til my puzzler was sore....how come he can't play the OF anymore?

Someone should ask Hahn tomorrow if Conforto and Boras are still engaged in contract discussions encompassing both 2022 rehab with 2023 guaranteed?

Then an option for 2024.

They so desperately need one for next year, if not two.  And not ready to push Colas up until second half of next season arguably.

If Conforto signs here, he'd hit 150 for 3 weeks and then aggravate his shoulder. Trade for a healthy outfielder and then finally sign Joc or something over the winter.

That'll do...I'll take another run thank you.

Look at the birthday on the back of his card.  Cumulatively being banged up with injuries for much of his career...

Wasn’t any vetting done on this guy?

Looks like Jose likes the Southern California weather.

Yes. He's a NL veteran. Hahn says I'll take him.

It was pretty much a trade from weakness.

Man, I'd get Burger and Haseley (if he's here) in and get some guys out

He did have a 3 fWAR last year but very little pressure to produce in that lineup with mostly favorable matchups as a hitter.

Nope, think Chuck Heston.

Robert could get another shot at that triple
