A bad 5 start stretch didn't suddenly make him a bad pitcher. His strikeout and walk rates are right in line with where they've been for years. He's still very good.

Unfortunately the guy was making good pitches. 

this team is so horrible at anticipating pitches.

skubal been throwing mostly change ups as his comfort pitch so you know its coming.

 

change up right down the middle of the plate and eloy didnt anticipate it.

 

its been this way all year.. just not smart baseball from top to bottom.

This is is the guy that almost lost us a game booting back to back plays in the bottom of the 9th. I love Jose. He’s great. He’s a gamer. But he’s not perfect either.
