July 11, 20223 yr Remember when Eaton was traded and a board insider alluded to it being part of a locker room reset then the Sox resigned Eaton because they believed the locker room needed more fire, and then they dfa’d him a few months into the season because he actually does suck and also can’t hit. Also remember when the managers kids were openly airing out locker room gossip and the Sox just let it ride for months/years until the manager basically quit. So weird we are having locker room issues again.

Who are the three most underperforming players based on expectations entering the season? Which players seems to consistently be going through the motions or demonstrating a fundamental lack of awareness both on offense and defense? You could answer TA or Leury...but there are plausible explanations for them, as well as for Pollock.

They specifically wrote that this is a “lack of player leadership”. Could they be out of touch enough to believe that this would come across as “it’s all the players’ fault” and not “hey what the hell are the coaches doing”? If this was leaked to Nightengale, I can’t see it coming from anyone other than JR or LaRussa himself. Typically, the managers and coaches stay out if the clubhouse and let the players run it. So they probably assume people will just agree with it. The only new players really are Pollock and Harrison. So either they are the cause or the clubhouse wasn't as good as reported in years past. Or that's what they want people to believe anyway.

That might be more of a jealousy issue...like the YouTube series, the way he's seemingly leading his personal life, etc. Remember all the whispers about Madrigal and how he didn't fit in and rubbed many the wrong way? So it's definitely not an overtly Christian-oriented clubhouse like the Royals have had during the Dayton Moore Era. Edited July 11, 20223 yr by caulfield12

I've never heard anything negative about either of those 2 in terms of their clubhouse character. Pollock was well liked in LA.

July 11, 20223 yr Sox remain undefeated, and very excited and together, when Anthony La Russa is not in the same state as the team.

Harrison is one of the few players who really seems to care about winning. Maybe they're saying his actions and play don't match. Pollock has never seemed to be a good fit. At best his body language this year has mostly been indifferent. And who does Pollock usually hang out with in the dugout? Vaughn? Sheets?

Recently, hitting in general...but specifically with RISP. That said Anderson with his lack of walks and huge power numbers is a max 850-875 ops touching 900 type of player.
