He finally got a swing and miss on the fastball.

It was 97 mph.  That helped.

TLR is a genius. If he doesn’t start Leury over Engel, then Leury is the guy inserted in the 3 hole and Engel doesn’t hit in that spot. I can’t believe we have been underestimating his mastermind abil

  • Madrigal gets that easily

  • Keep winning. Fire Tony.

This is probably Kopech's last inning.

Will he get through it?

Feel like Foster has been warming for half an hour

Way to pitch out of it

kopech is nutting up.

Way to pitch out of trouble there

Huuuuuge DP

Great job battling.  Hendriks for 5?

3 whiffs on 79 pitches is alarming, but it's impressive Kopech can battle like this despite obviously not being at his best

nice strong throw by harrison too.

Got a decent feeling about Jose this inning. Could be good vibes, could be gas, who knows

I think this is a game to push ReyLo. Plan for getting 2 from him but if he can go further, great.

You got some kinda problem with Joe Kelly?

A lot of Kopech's issues are between the ears. Cease was the same way and still is sometimes. They just need experience and to learn how to pitch.

It would help Kopech a lot to develop that change up.

Eh, it's more about the refinement in the offseason to know you have more than one good pitch each night you can command, that just takes time. Kopech seems mentally tough to me.

I would argue being a power pitcher who's battling despite minimal whiffs/strikeouts is doing exactly that
