I would be very surprised if Cubs don't move Happ and Contreras. Especially Contreras.

I was thinking this as well.

Who’s excited for Merkin to tweet “the deadline has passed and sources tell me the Sox are done”

They're admitting that this season is fucked.....which is fine.

I actually agree with standing pat here. Re-evaluate in the winter.

The Twins probably just added 4 wins with their trades today. The division race might as well be over barring any major injuries for them.

Acting like they actually started is something else.

I’m scared of what Hahn might do if we was 100% all in, but if this is all we’re doing then he’s failed completely.

Orlando might be a fake insider, but he nailed it here.

Yup, sums it up pretty nicely.

Again, if this season is screwed then we need to rebuild again. Because it isn't going to get any better moving forward. We have no money because we spent it on trash, and we have no prospects. There is no re-evaluate or retool option for us.

I don’t believe a thing Hahn says

Easy to do when he doesn’t really say anything.

“I mean, ideally speaking to an extent we would expect to see there would be a time where we are able to see what one would expect to see. So while we set off on this path we look forward to setting ourselves up to build upon multiple appearances onward to the ultimate goal of, obviously, multiplied championships. Where we sit today with multiple players getting healthy and maintaining multiple pieces we feel to add substantially for our core one could say that we can compete with anyone at this moment and more so for the foreseeable future.

Now, with saying that we do not preclude other opportunities which may or ideally, may not arise.”

Isn't that a lot for a rental?

I think a competent GM could retool this thing pretty quickly, but that dude is not Hahn that’s for sure.

Standing pat is essentially the White Sox version of throwing in the towel on the season

I don't think Moncada and Giolito will be this bad next year. Possibly Lynn will be better as well. Grandal's knees are shot, it is what it is.

you're right, it was one year after.

But nonetheless, Jordan is who made Reinsdorf's legacy.

Correct, and he had nothing to do with bringing him to the organization. (That was my point, wasn’t trying to be a dick to you or anything haha)

Given the way the season has gone, I expect a major injury tonight.  Abreu is my pick to click.

If you were going to standpoint, we should have sold off short-term pieces and relievers.  Why is Cueto here if we aren’t even trying to do anything but squeak by into a short playoff series?

Next year is the last chance for this core.
