Andrus is on one of the greatest contract drives of all time.  He's trying to erase 5 years of being a total shitbag in 5 weeks.

So glad that jake Diekman will be on the 2023 White Sox and Manny Machado won't. Nice job, Jerry & Rick.

  • Snell is a scumbag. Your love for the Padres and their team full off a-holes is so strange.

BTW The Pitching matchup is Cease vs Clevinger

I'd like to welcome all members of the Brewers community who have chosen to join us today in the Gamethread

Damn glad to be here, wegs.

Nice of you about those Brewers fans.

You truly are the host with the most.

Now let us teach them San Diego Padres what they don't know how.

It's got a good beat.

Easy to dance to.

I give it a 74 2/3.

Wasn't Clevinger involved in a dust up with the Sox when he was with a different team?

The Tigers?

He seems like such an unlikable chap anyway.

Clevinger was with Cleve. Sox pitchers with 15 K's.

That's it.

How long ago was that?

Seems like Clevinger has been around since the 70s.

Nationals mauling the Phillies.

Tied in the WC spot, both now 2 GB with 5 to play...including Philly on fumes in Game 2 tonight.

Milwaukee essentially 3 back due to tiebreaker.

Padres might be backing in...we shall see.

I really dislike the tiebreaker.....let the boys play!!!

I'm a man of simple needs, wants and desires....I want 163 back and the cursed insurance jingle gone.

What they should do if they’re going to stick with the balanced schedule starting next year, is just abolish the three divisions. Top 6 seeded in order. Game 163 if 2/3 and or 6/7 tie.

After completely ruining their own season, if the Sox knock the Padres out of the playoffs, you might be able to hear me laughing all the way from the other side of the world.

Sounds like a fir for the Sox.

Mabe two three years. He was partying in Chicago during Covid and got traded.

Could be the Sox AND Rodon for SF on the road.

That said, the Padres probably only need to go 2-3 from here on out.

2-7 finish to the season and backing in not the best plan...but might get them a matchup with the Cards, who they beat in the postseason two years ago.  Avoiding Mets/Braves not the worst "unintended" consequences.

Pretty sure him and Plesac?

He was also involved with the Tatis and Bauer "groupie" allegations.  And provided CLE with 20% of their roster.

Also a key free agent pitcher this off season with Manaea that will be hotly debated here since his price range won't be as exorbitant...such as Rodon.

Final Cease start of the season. It'd be nice to see him dominate one last time.

You can't have a bracket of 68 teams, or whatever the current format is, and also have tiebreaker games.

Playoffs go three weeks too long already. The World Series will soon resemble the NHL Winter Classic games.

Marlins just lost their starter to injury.

Seems pretty certain Brewers will be able to come back now...but stranger things have happened in these situations.

Hey, a HR!

Here for Cease to throw down one last time.  Haven't watched a game since the Cleveland extra innings, but I'd still love to tune in to see Cease end an amazing year strong.

Can Andrus be brought back as hitting coach next year?

If AV swung the way Andrus does, he would have hit 35 HR's this year.

you don't need impressive raw power to hit bombs so long as you pull the ball in the air. lesson to be learned for Moncada, Eloy, Vaughn, etc etc etc

He's clearly figured something out this year. This is his best power year since 2017. You know, back when baseballs were juiced.
