Gio not having any goodwill built up after 3 very good years is quite something

I kind of think his velocity will tick up after a couple spring innings.

No.  He was shaken up a bit and in some pain, but he stayed in and made a routine catch the next play.

How long do we have to wait to figure out Lucas' problem wasn't his weight?

Well the stats say it was largely due to the teams defense, to be honest.

Is there a way to watch this game?

It's being broadcast by the Dodgers network and on MLB.TV

I think he was legitimately bad last year, but definitely interesting his xFIP was right in line with 2019-2021

And to the naked eye, his stuff was way down and seemed to give up a lot of hard contact.

People putting a lot in a March 5th spring training appearance. It is beyond amazing. It happens every year. Both ways.

Romy in at RF for Colas.  Not sure if injury related or not.

Death, taxes, and fans freaking out about spring performance ?

Coincidence with the ban on sticky stuff?

I think it’s way, way more likely to wear and tear of using the arm slot he was using.

Especially this early. You really want him in midseason form now so he can dominate games that don’t count?

I know people don't like it, but covid and the oblique injury are legitimate excuses to me.

My redass with Giolito is his pouting.

TA boots a routine grounder, Lucas pouts.

Ump doesn't give him a pitch he thought he had, fucker pouts.

Gives up a homer? Yep, pouts.

I realize it is spring training. And if he wins 30 gamesthis season, I'll eat a whole great big bowl of asparagus until it's all gone and promptly post an all-caps "well I'll be" here on soxtalk and claim I knew it all along.

And 20 wimpy fucker pushups.

Probably buy a Giolito jersey. An '83.

I just can't stand watching him pout about the first thing that don't go just as he'd have it.

Not betting against him. Hoping he succeeds but not betting on that, either.

Outman is having a really nice spring. I took a lot of crap for bringing him up so much lol.

Oh yeah.

I forgot about that.

Still can't abide the pouting.

His stuff was down. Gio had a bad year. Defense definitely played in his inflated ERA however, specifically our 1B playing OF.

I'm not Outman back patting . It's only spring training and I made a point of saying "a nice spring" not a nice season or career and I wouldn't have said anything but @bmags said Outttmannnnn ! since he liked him too and I responded to him. Long way to go before I can say he's a good player.
