August 4Aug 4 Chicago White Sox: The White Sox are ahead of schedule, so it's understandable why they weren't more aggressive, but they didn't do much to improve the team. Castillo hasn't been that good with the Seattle Mariners and will cost $24 million next year. Brenton Doyle is a good defensive outfielder but can't hit. Huascar Brazoban might help the bullpen, but there were more impactful relievers who were traded. Griffin is a fine player but he's not setting the world on fire. If he were here, we'd be complaining about his lack of power and ability to get on base. His superpower seems to be speed. Not defending taking Smith but I'm also not sure griffin is a world beater.

Meanwhile, we pretty much have to use Hagen in a 1 to 3 inning relief role because the Sox are likely afraid he will walk the world as a starter. Edited 7 hours ago7 hr by WhiteSox2023
