Earned as in "backwards" luck for White Sox and Royals?

De-earned? Dis-earned?  Relegated?

  • Give me #7 or #1. No in-between, thanks.

  • God I fucking hate being a Sox fan

  • There is no part of the cba that is not geared to f*** over being a fan of the Chicago white Sox while Jerry reinsdorf is the owner. Everything puts our team at a disadvantage.

110 easily

What will be higher, the 2024 Sox number of losses, or the ripe old age JR lives to before he finally gives up the ghost?

The Sox might not even pick 10th. If Oakland is worse than them, they’ll pick 11th haha

JFC…how the hell did Jerry allow this s%*# CBA to happen??

for anyone ready for some pain next year

Wow... I'm speechless. We suffered through this year to end up picking...5th? What a kick in the dick.

They had the 4th worst record so dropping a spot isn't a big deal. In the end it won't matter much anyway.

Here's who MLB.com has ranked as the #5 selection just FYI:

5. Jac Caglianone, 1B/LHP, Florida
Mayo: “Two-way player at Florida. He’s really interesting even if we are not sure what he is. Most people like him as a hitter. There are holes on each side. He has a ton of power, but tends to chase a little. Big, huge lefty. On the mound, he’s up in the upper 90s and misses a lot of bats. But, some command issues. We’ll see what he is. 6-foot-5, 290-pounds. He’s a lot of fun. I think it’s great for college baseball to have a legitimate two-way guy at that level, at the very least.”

Yep...another first baseman LOL ?

...who is also a left handed starter?

Yeah there’s plenty of guys that do both but get drafted one way.

That's because the draft has been run by fucking idiots.  The scouts know the players better than Jeremy Haber's computer does.  Get the hell out of their way and let them do their job.  The results will show.

Isn't this pretty much the opposite of what most teams do? Aren't most teams going to more analytics?

Yes

I don't think he cares. I'm pretty sure when and if it was brought it up to him, he likely hand wove it away to talk about profit margins on the concessions.

Sounds too close to Sirotka.

It feels like the White Sox should have the opposite of the Moneyball/Jonah Hill/Paul DePodesta character in Jeremy Haber...not that there's any demand at all for such a movie.

Always though Fabian and Gellinger were at least solid.

There is not an established generational type talent in this draft class. Considered pretty thin at the top. Here's the BA summary of it at current state.

Thanks for sharing. I’m curious about Jac Caglianone.

Ive always wondered if the Sox crowd will cheer up on news of Reinsdorf croaking.

I can hear the Score callers grave dancing now.

Maybe he’s got some potential pitching. Who knows.

He was fun to watch before he got hurt and was traded.

I meant more in the way of we suffered through this year to ONLY get 5th. And Cleveland hopped over us to get the 1st overall. Bit of a gut punch for me personally ?

He never ignores something that happens to the MLB.

I don't know of any Sox fan openly hoping for his death, if for no other reason because every one of us is going to wind up in that position someday.

However I do think all Sox fans will feel grateful that now a new situation/ownership is going to come into play and that it may work much better than before.

Had to cap off Nashville suck day by watching the Hawks lose to Nashville via shootout at my first Hawks game since pre-Aldrich knowledge.

Cannot pick within the first six 2025 selections: Oakland Athletics

Cannot pick within the first nine 2025 selections: Chicago White Sox
