On his role in 2024, including being at Spring Training nearly every day.

He’ll be “limited and it’s focused,” doing what he can to “build that family culture, and how that translates into practicing and getting fundamentals right.”

“That’s really very focused and limited because I’m not going to have any thump where I walk up to anybody and say ‘this is how you should play and practice’ because they’re the guys who are on the line. But I’m going to be a resource,” La Russa said.

La Russa also denies being involved in the Front Office Purge and is pissed off at AJ.

Quote

“I got really upset when a particular guy [former Sox and current broadcaster and podcaster A.J. Pierzynski implied] I had something to do with that. I was never asked about the changes at the top. Kept saying I was involved, I was never asked about or involved with Kenny and Rick [getting fired].”

Continued losing impacts Jerry’s health.

Quote

“He catches a lot of heat that should be directed at guys he hires, like me and coaching staffs,” La Russa said. “We’re the ones who can get our hands on what the final score is. The better the White Sox play, the healthier he is. So try to have a great season.”

So yeah I'm definitely going with it's the losing that sustains him.

I hope we lose 120 games next year

?

Pedro better not get his nose too far up Tony's ass. JR and Getz need turns.

Eat a fat bowl tony, eat a fat bowl.

Uh huh, sure, Tony. Why don't I believe you?

Yeah, um, yikes. How'd that work out for you when you were drunk or napping in the dugout?

If you have to ask a coach if there's a quarterback controversy...there's a quarterback controversy.

Exactly

JR catches a lot of heat for making bad hires, you're almost there Tony. JFC, I defended this dude more than most but FFS why the hell is he even involved AT ALL in the franchise right now?

Tony La Russa admits he's not the decision maker but he was referring to his bowels.

Decision maker now for the Nashville White Sox...but allowing Dave Stewart to run out front for appearance's sake.

Same problem his ignition lock gives him.

TLR might be even less popular than JR and Terry Bevington at this point.

“Brilliant man, brilliant mind. This guy has done things in the game people won’t ever dream of.”

LOL on this Grifol quote

La Russa also wants it known he had nothing to do with vice president Ken Williams and general manager Rick Hahn getting fired by Reinsdorf in August and had no input with Getz and Grifol putting their staffs together.

LaRussa reinvolvement is a mistake.  The last thing Getz needs is getting Tony's two cents worth.

Well the good news is that you can't give your two cents when you've only got one cent to spend.

Good point.

I hope we are done bringing up larussa

Nothing personal against the OP, but can we please limit LaRussa threads to one a day.

Yes, this would be preferable, but we’re Sox fans and can’t help reliving our past miseries on the daily.

Post of the month makes a lot of cents.
