  • I know that it is only Spring Training, but I'm beginning to worry that this team is not very good.

  • I don't know....under the old poster assignment rules Soxtalk held me in the minor leagues for a long time and I've never really forgiven them for that.

Some non-Statcast games will record every strikeout as 3 pitches and every ball in play as the first pitch (and every walk as 4 straight balls), but that's not what actually happened. He's had some go

Crochet hit triple digits

Game is on MLB Network

Assuming Crochet is sent to the minors to stretch out, is there anyway we can gain BACK a year of control?

Yeah

That would be ideal

Can't expect a $2 million/year player to catch up to major league velocity like this, sadly.

If he is optioned and spends most of the season in the minors, yes they would gain an extra year of control. I have the feeling that they will stretch him out in the bigs though.

Is it just me or did our 2nd baseman and shortstop look like they knew what they were doing in the 1st inning?

I’d hope they would at least manage some of the workload in the minors where you could skip him and ease him in better before coming up later

I'd imagine Crochet is on the Kopech 2021 plan

Yes, but since he reached his third year and first arbitration hearing, he is eligible to at minimum an arbitration award every single year from now on. He still has all three option years available per FanGraphs.

They stated earlier if they are going the starter route he would likely work a few months to gain workload before being called up. Seems like the most likely scenario if they do attempt to stretch him out.

Yes!!!

Suck it Dodgers!

Just stretch Crochet put at the MLB level. Who cares? 2-3 innings out of your 5th starter is more and more the norm anyways.

Our $2 million player > their $2 million player?

DeJong with DeDONG!!

The Dodgers have woken a sleeping giant!

Colas started the right direction and snagged a solid over the shoulder catch to end the inning and deny the Dodgers extra bases.

He's had a good spring so far.

Ohtani gets $2M in cash each of the ten years of his contract, before getting $68M deferred payments after he flees California once the contract is over. It works to $47M in present value, assuming current interest rates.

And he just went yard.
