An example of why WAR is a joke, expecially concerning 1st basemen. Before the Covid year,  Abreu with over 100 RBIs had a War of like 2.9, and Yolmer Sanchez had a War of like 2.6.

The next year, the White Sox cut Yolmar to start the season and Abreu went on to win AL MVP.  Abreu's value to the Sox was only a 1/3 of a run more than Yolmer?? What a joke!

It’s called defensive value.  Abreu was mostly a turnstile.  And RBI’s have a lot to do with being in the 3 hole.  Learn baseball.

Absolute worst of the worst.  Guy shouldn’t have a job.

Which of the Sox players, coaches, and management are you referring to?  There are  quite a few that meet this description.

All of the above, including the Bears/Sox/Cubs ass kisser with no voice, no talent, and no game Zach Zaidman.

I think VileHoopster is right on this one.  War is a useless stat.

Catcher should be Korey Lee and either Maldonado or Stassi.

Lee was fine behind the plate last year; Yea, he batted .100, but that's probably sample-size driven.  I think the Sox can count on him for at least .190 or .200 this season.

Agree. After the Stassi deal, they should have just rolled with him and Lee.
