McGreevy is their #14 ranked prospect.

He's got Montgomery out twice but he's not fooling anybody. 7 hits, all singles.

Hoping a game or two gets PPD to push back the need for a 5th starter and we get the extra year. It's really only like, 11 days.

  • Baldwin might be the shortstop in AA. Rodriguez will join Charlotte. Hes out dealing with a family matter.  Cespedes released, Tatum, Eder and Bush in AA  He wasn’t drafted with that tho

I’m not sure. We would only get compensation if he finishes top 3 in RoY voting, right?

I just read somewhere in the last few days that signing a player to a multi-year contract before their debut nullifies the ROY draft reward.

HE'S ONLY THROWN 63 INNINGS IN THE LAST 2 YEARS!!! OMG!!! IRRESPONSIBLE!!!

This is how we view him as a starter vs. Crochet:

Obviously don't want to see him get hurt, but there is a drastic difference in importance to the team.

Is it really going to be a surprise if and when Crochet hits the DL at some point this season?  Obviously we all hope it doesn’t happen but there is a high chance of it happening.

Which, if it happens, would have happened as a starter or reliever. He had shoulder inflammation last year during his rehab stint.

There will be so many “I told you so” on this site.  He looked great though yesterday, and it would make his starts worth watching if he can stay healthy.

Fixed it for you.

Two backward K's for Monty. Both strike 3 calls were very close, very good pitches. I guess you like his patience but he's gotta swing the bat too.

Yep, need to protect.  Had similar issues in ST.

Between 1/4 to 1/3 of the innings Garrett has thrown in the past 6 years (college, minors, MLB).

Colas doubled off a left-handed pitcher ?

Colas hard hit oppo double. 2-3.

Berroa gives up a home run to his first batter, meatball fastball.

two home runs...

Is it common to go into series with four total infielders, or are the rosters pretty fluid to cover even a day or two injury?

Berroa exits the game with a 135 ERA.

Because Rick Hahn irresponsibly tried to rush him back to save his bullpen 13 months from Tommy John surgery.

Honestly, he was drafted to immediately help them in the pen in 2020. Would have been nice to have him working as a starter in the minors starting in 2021.

Thankfully the starters DL is way more posh than the relievers one.

As has been pointed out, a pitcher starts rehabbing about 2 months after surgery. Please post his doctor's medical opinion, or just stop.

As has been pointed out, the average time for a pitcher to make their first appearance is just under 18 months. No big league pitcher has come back from TJS in that short of a period and thrown more than about 10 innings since 2019 as far as I could find.

What's actually ironic is that in January 2023, I wrote clearly that there was a smarter plan for Crochet - sending him to the minors, bringing him along slowly, and I specifically predicted that the White Sox would do the exact opposite, rush him back by May and he'd wind up just like one of the guys who threw under 10 innings. It could never have been more obvious how it was going to go.

7 guys over 30 on that roster plus a handful of 29 year-olds. Woo!  If all the prospects are going to be at Birmingham, I wonder why they promoted Colson. Maybe they wanted him to focus on power in that launching pad.  Gonna be interesting who plays short at AA. Popeye’s best position by far is 2b.  Any chance Baldwin makes it to AA?

Baldwin might be the shortstop in AA. Rodriguez will join Charlotte. Hes out dealing with a family matter.

No Terrell Tatum, Yoelqui Cespedes, Jake Eder or Ky Bush, either. AA, A+ & A opening days are April 5.

Cespedes released, Tatum, Eder and Bush in AA

He wasn’t drafted with that thought in mind. He was drafted because the scouting department thought he was a starter.

And they should have put him in in the minors to start working towards that goal.

God we really busted out with all of our cuban post Robert signings. Sucks to not even get a single utility guy out of it.

Maybe they should stop signing older international prospects whose ceilings are "utility player."
