I didn't see the Fletcher play, but the winds are BRUTAL and gusty today.  Typically when that happens at this park the winds above circle the opposite direction below the upper deck level.  The balls in the air will go up at one angle, and then when they catch the lower jet stream, they suddenly move back the opposite way.  You really see it on IF pop ups and high fouls behind home plate.  Players will start running one way, and then all of the sudden have to break the opposite direction almost at the very end.

He just slipped and fell.

I'm convinced the Sox are giving all these guys their mlb debuts just to increase attendance via their families.

Yep, I’m a USAF Vietnam Vet and a click is a kilometer, we used the term to tell the distance that the Vietcong was lobbing in mortars and rockets at the Nha Trang Air Force Base where I was stationed

So once Clevinger joins the team, the starting rotation will look something like this?

(1) Crochet (2) Clevinger (3) Fedde (4) Nastrini (5) Cannon

Dare I say that’s bordering on a respectable rotation?

It's at least interesting to watch.

Nice screen by the runner on Vaughn, almost caused an error on the throw back to first.

Got it.  Needed the longer spikes apparently.

Twice!

Are they going to DFA Soroka or move him to the bullpen when Clevinger is ready?

Nice play and throw by Shumake.

Nice start

Here's something you can't say often.. The SP in line for a win after 5.

Benintendi is a zero tool player

I just don’t see how a guy goes from a solid 1.5 to 2 war player to just absolutely awful so quickly in what should be his prime years. It’s not like he’s 33-35. He can’t possibly be this bad.

Yeah I'm hoping he is just in some weird slump. He wasn't even this bad last year and he was hurt.

Stone just called Brad Keller an “established major league starter.”  I think he forgot to include the word “bad” in there.

Flexen would make more sense. Soroka is still young and usable.

The only time a sac bunt is acceptable: a useless hitter is at the plate.

Hes already being bumped from the rotation. Flexen that is.

True. I’m excited to see what the 3 headed monster of Leasure, Wilson, Kopech can do with a close late lead.

Nice showing by Cannon.

Pretty much the guy we've seen pitch in the minors. Going to throw strikes, induce contact, and doesn't miss an excessive amount of bats. Could be a pretty decent back-end guy.

So our entire lineup?

On our team we're gonna be sacrificing a lot then.

even when vaughn runs into one he's so far out in front it's a weak line drive instead of a 400 foot bomb.

The crowd just got really amped for a hard hit line drive to shallow left by AV that got caught.

Send my man to Charlotte to get his groove back holy s%*#.

This eventual rotation is going to be much better.  Won’t improve the lineup unfortunately.

Crochet

Clevenger

Fedde

Nastrini

Cannon

Fletcher’s swing that at bat illustrates so many of the issues this team has. RISP, up 2-0 in the count, and he chases a low slider.

Also, why play Vaughn in this game instead of game 2 against a sinker/slider righty in Singer?
