Good organizations don’t do rebuilds, they develop players in farm systems and fill in the missing pieces with smart trades and free agent signings.

This was nothing but a salary dump. The payroll next year will probably be the lowest in MLB. Low payroll equals big profits for JR. I would have rather held on to him and rode him into the offseason versus taking this return, even as a quickly depreciating asset. There is no way this was the best deal on the table.
