Daniels would’ve been awful on the bears.

Caleb was the right pick then and he’s the right pick now.

Despite his current flaws, he’s still the most direct path to a franchise qb.

Hope so, especially because he’s supposed to be a generational quarterback.

Washington has schemed so many wide open throws for Daniels, it’s ridiculous. Everything looks so easy.

We know how this is going to go down. Atlanta quickly scores a TD to tie, then Daniels gets to march back down the field making wide open throw after wide open throw. Then there will be an obvious penalty ignored to benefit Daniels.

Washington is like the bizarro Bears, so damn lucky.

I watched the game last night and thought that Washington was lucky. But I also liked their offensive scheme and their ability to move the ball. They seem to get several players involved and don’t do short passes. They free Daniels up to make throws, something I don’t see the Bears doing with Williams. Maybe the line play is better or a team can do more with a stronger line.

Not sure one rookie QB looks as good as Daniels Nix Maye Penix next year.

Not buying the Sanders hype here.

Let’s see this group in a few years, every time we have a generational group of QBs it rarely seems to have staying power

This is not a maybe.  You have to give a QB time.

Hoping so. Some people pointed out years ago that Rodgers played behind a terrible line and still made plays so the Bears QBs should do the same. I don’t buy that argument and think the line is needed.

Luckily and in theory, the Bears should be able to snag a top offensive lineman with a top 10 pick in the draft.

Instructions unclear, drafting Jeanty or Burden instead.

If you’d have told me that this crop a year later would have all had average to strong production I think I’d have pointed to it making sense because of the huge amount of reps that group came in with. Daniels, Penix Nix and Caleb all had thrown a ton of PA in college. Very often the last decade this hasn’t been the case, esp during Covid era

Not sure if this is frustrating or a positive, but the Bears could make HUGE additions this offseason if done correctly.

They will have 3 picks basically inside the Top 40 of the draft (I think the Bears pick 2nd rounder will be No. 41) but they could grab two OL and an edge rusher, all who should be starters.

You can, and should probably back up the brinks truck for Trey Smith in free agency, as the Bears will have the money.

You could start next season with something like:

LT: Will Campbell

LG: Tevan Jenkins (I'd probably bring him back even though I don't want to)

C : 2nd Round Selection

RG: Trey Smith

RT: Darnell Wright

You take a DE with the other 2nd rounder, and I may follow it up with another edge in Round 3.

That is a totally new line that ideally has 3 anchors in Smith, Wright and Campbell on it that are foundation pieces for the next 3-4 years. You hopefully hit on the DE's because the pass rush has to get signficantly better as well to have any shot on defense consistently. Billings coming back next season will also help against the run

Teven Jenkins feels like a guy who will be a perennial pro bowler if he leaves and if he stays he will continue to be the star crossed oft injured guard.  I just want the guy to be healthy because he clearly is a nasty lineman when he is

Yeah, you either have to get Campbell with your first pick or see how far down you can go and still get the #2 OL guy.  Then you build from there.  Whether it is draft picks or free agents, you need to just nuke this group and start over with real anchors.

You're doubting Stroud a bit now?

Ofc you have Lawrence...Tua...Dak, Watson, Murray, essentially Burrow, Herbert and Love seem fine for now, but really such an inexact science.

Aren't Flacco/Stafford/R.Wilson the only QB's other than Brady or Mahomes to ever win a Super Bowl...all those others drafted since 2010 haven't won a single one?

Ofc Darnold's and to lesser extent Mayfield's success is always going to be the counter here about being patient with young QBs....right place right time right support system.  Even the Carolina QB dilemma might be turning.

I didn’t doubt stroud, I said GROUPS of QB drafts have been cast as generational drafts and I am going to wait and see on this group

I agree, and right or wrong, feel like he'd play more on a "good team" and not clock out twice every other game

Completely forgot JJ McCarthy with this year's class as well.

And Richardson has felt more like a rookie because of how raw he was coming out of UF.

For whatever reason, still feel that Ward ends up the highest pick in 2025, but not totally enamored with a single guy this year.  Beck and Ewers were both there at the start of year and have fallen precipitously.  Milroe's such a wild card. Gabriel ends up a backup somewhere perhaps on movie alone.

Dart or Nussmaier?  it's a mess.

Fascinatingly, Jeanty has been anywhere from #4 to the Chiefs on boards.  Really a number of solid RB's to choose from this year.  Will go with Kaleb Johnson over almost anyone because of his size/speed combo.

Shadeur is going as first qb, I have no doubt about that

He gets compared to Stroud a lot...but he just doesn't have that super wow how did he do that? escapability of Milroe and anything approaching his father's topline speed on the field.

Hunter's presence bailed him out so much...to be fair Colorado had so many receiver injuries the last two years as well, and inconsistent RB play or trailing for much of 2023 to relieve the DL pressure.  Feels like he was getting sacked more often than even Burrow and Williams.

The hope would be could they get him on a shorter prove it deal to pair with Wright and three new bodies to start and find 4 other bodies to back up.

The Bears need to invest their 3 top picks in OL.  Williams is the future, if the defense suffers so be it.  Then drop a bag of cash on someone in FA.  IF they stick with Jenkins then draft a DL with their third pick

All this being said, i have zero faith that Poles can do any better at his job then some folks off the street.  His inability to do anything other than benefit from losing is rather amazing.

My fear is he will trade up to take a stud OL and lose draft capital needed for his misses and inability to draft a strong class across the board.

The best thing they can do for the defense is get an offense that keeps them off of the field for much longer stretches of time.

I think  Cam Ward will be much better than Sanders but I am predisposed to not like anything related to Colorado football and view everything there as overhyped.  Potentially I am being irrational but so be it.
