White Sox asking for "top prospects" for Robert

That definitely doesn't help him, but his approach and health are bigger problems.

Yeah I can't fully put the blame on "no protection" when it's more approach.

  • I do not see Robert getting traded, as it would likely mean they sold low on him Sox are better off keeping him and hoping that he rebuilds his trade value

The whole world thought Nick was a high first round pick.  If the Sox didn't select him, someone else would have.  The Sox failed in developing him.  Luis Arraez and Kwan show you that it CAN be done

If they are getting two top guys they want, just eat the money and be done with it.

I agree, although it’s a bit concerning that he will once again have no protection at all.

He should learn to take a walk, then.

Then they need to hang onto him and hope he can recover enough value to get something at the deadline. If not... oh well. He'll take the Moncada route out of here.

Been saying for awhile this is the most likely outcome if they don’t trade him this winter.

68, 98, 145, 100.

The number of games Luis Robert has played in each of the last 4 seasons. Odds are he misses a good chunk of time in 2025.

His aggressiveness is a bigger problem when teams aren’t going to pitch to him because there are no other threats in the lineup.  Having a real bat (or two) beyond him would make a big difference IMO.

He should but is easier said than done for a guy like him.

You seem to be cheering for this to happen.

I’d rather they trade him before we find out

Not that I believe that’s a real rumor, but looks like he plays a good amount of RF, and I assume he’d play there while Tauchman plays CF

Yeah I don’t actually trust that account.

Meidroth constantly on base should help some no doubt.

That’s one of the worst trade proposals I’ve seen

The Pirates are going to add a big salary?  This is obviously a troll account.

that is a strangely worded article to me. kind of gets to the point in like the last sentences

I thought it was just me. I had to keep re-reading each paragraph thinking it didn’t make sense because of some major grammatical error. But there were no errors, and it was like the sentences were written “backwards” or something. Maybe it was AI generated.

I keep thinking a lot of these articles are written, not by AI, but by a foreign language AI.

I sometimes run my own writing through ChatGPI. I'll get into arguments, late night, after a bottle of wine, with it. Asking for rhyming words for a particular word, I finally got ChatGPI to admit it doesn't really understand the concept of rhyming.

Honestly, a lot of Sportings News articles feel like they are AI generated.

Isn't that what happened to whatever's left of Sports Illustrated (minus the Swimsuit Issue)?

They were using AI for some articles, but I thought it had stopped.

There's no way in HELL that the Pirates are going to trade Jones for Robert...they believe his value is closer to Crochet's.

And they're certainly not going to add another "bigger" salary while getting rid of the much cheaper and younger centerpiece of their rotation.

For Davis+ without Jones being involved at all, sure.

We love to take on the baggage of former first round draft picks that fail elsewhere...and then try to "fix" them, usually failing somewhere along the way.   But especially when there's a dramatic position shift like catcher or 1B/3B to OF.  That's our specialty, right?
