No way a replacement level player could reasonably be expected to produce equivalent numbers: 3.42 FIP, 12 K/9, 0.9 HR/9, 7.6 H/9. His walk rate is high, but it’s not that high imo (4.3). At any rate, seems like a good bet to produce better results (4.32 ERA). Luxury Tax is a big line in the sand. He may go a few thousand over, but that’s about it. NBA is different. The teams that don’t go over split the tax money.
