  • I absolutely loathe the Sox offseason. It makes no fucking sense.

  • True, but he’s the only one with the potential to put up big numbers and carry the team for a week or two. If he’s traded, this year’s roster makes last year’s roster look solid.

Robert trade imminent?

At some point in Spring Training.

Before this ends up in the toilet, this is probably the most important post in this thread.

Playoff bound...too bad we missed on Robles last year, but this is our genuine opportunity.

Do we still have Snith-Njigba?

Well we now have three solid defenders in Rojas Amaya and Taylor.

So there's that.

No way this can be more than a MiLB deal right?

Impressive that he was positive WAR last year despite being completely shitty with the bat.

My expectation as well.

Robtert to the Mets makes a lot of sense. Take back Marte to even out the money for the Mets and grab two of their higher offensive prospects.

If that happens, the under for the W/L record O/U should be a slam dunk.

Does Cohen care that much about saving money?  Would that be fair to Marte to sentence him to the Sox after last season?

Well isn't this interesting.

I wonder if Robert even makes it to the first ST game with this organization

We seem to be forgetting that Robert put up 0.5 fWAR last year, OPSing .657.

$1.95M guaranteed deal. I really don't see how Robert isn't dealt soon.

He is just plain good defensively in center field too.

Luis was like having an extra coach on the field.

At least he knows his own name

Guys, Robert has proven nothing. Nobody wants him.  Now if he's hitting .345 with 17 homers entering June, fine. Til then he's an injury prone hitter who strikes out a lot and plays a dandy CF.

Glad Greg has joined the Dodgers' front office too.

Or Baltimore w/ Elias...

Had a solid .253 OBP last season,  and is entering his ge 34 season, so you expect him to only get better.

I had the lowest of expectations heading into the offseason, and somehow Getz managed to disappoint.  Every signing seems to be of someone with absolutely no upside.

Now pushing the $70 million payroll mark...until you subtract $20 million with Robert's salary and pass the Marlins on the way to the very bottom of the majors by $15 million.

Or is it $20 million next year?

Can't bother to look it up again.
