Wouldn't he only need 3 to break the AL record?

And nobody with higher than 62 HRs is in the HoF and probably won't be anytime soon.

I thought he hit 63 a few years ago, but it's actually 62. 3 is definitely doable in 4 games.

I think you need to seek a second opinion. My post didn't go into politics at all. It's an interesting topic though. Can a ballplayer take off to attend a friend's funeral when asked by the wife to attend? The Cubs have already clinched the wildcard and this is life and death in the year 2025. A friend of the player died and he went to the funeral rather than play in the Sunday game. One could take the Cub at his word that he attended for his friend and friend's wife, not for political gain.

I didn't offer my opinion because then I'd be breaking board rules getting political. Most of the 'fights' on this board are people disagreeing with opinions different from their own. My momma used to tell me the world would be a dull place if everybody agreed with each other all the time. ... Now if other posts in the past are any indication you will blast me and get in the last word cause I know better than to push it and get put on vacation again and this will be my last comment on the matter.

Look dude, we aren't stupid, and we all know you aren't either.  Don't insult me by pretending I am too dumb to see through this BS.  Despite getting a whole other post out on this topic, the next time you pull this stunt, you will be launched.

I want to see him hit 4 more to break the AL record. He really should win MVP.

He is a catcher.  There is zero doubt he is the MVP.  Will he win it?????  Maybe.  If the other option was not a Yankee and specifically Judge there would be no question.

I am not certain how many games he has actually caught but if it was over 50% of them than he has put up one of the greatest season in baseball history in my mind.

Pretty sure at least 120 or so...hasn't missed many games overall, so huge debate whether to play for 1/2 seed vs. resting him from here on out.

Then there's the implications for his personal HR chases as well.

I think this Tatis grand slam seals the deal on The DBacks season. Reds and Mets going down to the wire, Mets are facing an easier team.

I wonder what kind of deal Zac Gallen gets this offseason. ERA up to nearly 5. Wasn't that long ago he led the NL in WHIP and posted a 2.5 ERA. His trajectory is kinda Cease-esque, good one year bad the next. Both will be interesting UFA's. Both are traditionally healthy. I wonder if they sign 1 year deals.

Angels come back to beat the Asstros behind 2 homers from Trout. They want out of the postseason as badly as Detroit does.

Tigers and Guardians only need to win 1 more game to knock the Astros out. They no longer control their own destiny.

Dbacks eliminated.

Reds magic number on the Mets is 2.

I thought they had one more game. shucks. I'm sure all 3 of their fans are sorely disappointed.

I think this is the preferred outcome. I thought it would've been funny if the Red Sox fell out, but it'll be great to watch Crochet in the postseason.

Nice to see the Astros struggle. Tigers and AL Central really came back to Earth this year. Imagine these teams records if they didn’t get to hammer the Sox. Cleveland is like 20 games over .500 against bad teams. I suspect their postseason will be brief.

Started 119 of 121 games at C, 38 at DH.

Easily the single best season by a Catcher ever.
