81 wins if everybody stays healthy.

I was going to make a joke about "spring training wins don't count," but even with those wins, 81 still seems unrealistic.

"The White Sox can’t be as bad as last year, because they lost 121 games, and that’s almost impossible to do even once, much less twice, particularly because there’s evidence they were unlucky. When you lose three of your best hitters to baserunning injuries in the first two weeks of the season, that’s when you’ve moved officially beyond “not enough talent” to “straight-up snakebitten.” They were probably more like a 110-loss team that also had things go badly; on the other hand, the 2025 team won’t have the services of Garrett Crochet, Michael Kopech, or Michael Soroka. There is, at least, plenty of high-level talent on the way – and plenty of confidence for right now. Perhaps, even, too much."

They also still didn't replace those missing hitters.

But it happened. I'm not sure what your argument has ever been. That because they have an injury history, they didn't get injured? Or was Getz supposed to cut them, pay them, and then sign somebody else? On a reduced budget.

True .If you apply that same logic that Robert is always injured why even bother hoping he stays uninjured to get better prospects ? Sell now at bargain basement prices and maybe you'll be right. It'll be better than picking up the 20M option next year . But if he does get injured again you can say Getz is an idiot for hoping he wouldn't get hurt again and should've taken a bare bones offer. Gee whiz he got hurt again. Getz and anyone else thinking or hoping for a 1st half rebound or good health was delusional !  Should've traded with Cincy.

And a lot of people have said this already.

51 - 111

Don't really know why I am going that high with how bad this team is. At least it will be easy not to watch on their new channel I don't get. Going to miss late night with Chuck and Ozzie...

Thorpe needs TJ surgery and Drury has a broken left thumb.

I’ll go 50 wins.

Just the Sox luck. I feel Drury would have had somewhat of a comeback and help a little. Thorpe was obvious...

If it’s enough to potentially lock in first pick, I’m good with that

The first pick is a lottery, so no win total locks that in unfortunately.  The best we can hope for is the most chances at winning the lottery, and cross our fingers for some Derrick Rose type stuff, and not some Eddy Curry/Tyson Chandler type stuff.

At the start of the year, I told myself the Sox need to win 5 out of every 16 games to get to 50 wins (and then they’d still have two games to spare). So I will break the season into ten different 16-game chunks. I’ll update every time we finish another 16 games. Here are the results:

  1. 4-12
  2. 5-11

Total:  9-23, on pace for 46 wins

Here's another one to track:

Most losses in 2 seasons:  Mets 231 1962-63

Most losses in 3 seasons: Mets 240 1962-64

Sox with 222 in 24/25.  They set the 2 season record with 111 losses this season.  They set the 3 season mark  with 119.

After 54, 17-37

A small victory would be matching last year’s win total the final 108, so 58-104.

Just some incremental improvement and adding some pieces. That’s all we got now.
