It could be any number of things besides Taylor's arm . Both are plus defenders so it's not a very discernable difference .Then you got Jankowski known to be liked by Venable and people assume it's favoritism without any actual knowledge. It's talk radio Twitter meatball garbage jumping to conclusions.

It could be as simple as keeping guys on their toes playing positions they are capable of playing well in case they are needed to replace an injured guy so it won't be the 1dt time in a few months that you played the position. That's why good utility guys like Baldwin, who can play all over are valuable. After Tauchman comes back Taylor I'm sure will be playing late inning defense all over the OF .

Regardless of defense, favoritism, and Tauchman coming back soon, even a bad team like the Sox should have a better option than Jankowski to play the OF.
