I’m thinking this is because teams want to see proof that he’s healthy before they pull the trigger on trading for him.

If the White Sox were playing an injured player just to trade him, that would be a whole new level of low.

You’re expecting way too much for Robert.

Yeah it seems like people are expecting more than they should. Vientos his 32 home runs last year between regular season and postseason in 124 games. Not sure what is going on with him this year but seems like a good gamble to get that 30 home run power back and have him at 1B. That would set your infield for the future with Vientos-Meidroth-Montgomery-Vargas

Vargas is a butcher at 3B.

Is he actually injured or is he hurt? There is a difference, and it was always hard to tell with some of these guys.

He had periods of competency earlier this year, and he seems coachable. In between weight room stints, he can take grounders in the parking lot.

He tweaked something a few days ago, and "talked his way into the lineup". We can pretend all sorts of things to establish "new levels of low". Perhaps Robert will come to bat looking like a zombie, he's so shot up on pain killers. Maybe trainers will carry him out to the batter's box.

This just feels like something we will laugh at in a couple of years.

Just because he is our best asset doesn't mean he is a good one.

And that's fine..... but if you are going to get a flawed 1 tool power bat from NYM instead of someone who can probably play CF and be semi competent at the plate like Gilbert...then at least get a LH power bat.

Once again we're basically all RH except for CM and KT. I dont see Quero as a true switch hitter. Get a third savage.

I thought we learned the lesson that putting all our eggs in the basket of RH 1B is a bad idea from Vaughn. Apparently not.

Cause if they can't totally mash, you've got nothing there at all. There's no floor.

Stop being a dick, Getz.

Vientos has been a negative fWAR player in 3 of his 4 seasons.  He showed some power in his 1 good season, so, at a cheap price, perhaps take a chance.

Vientos is also a poor defender.  Poor D was a huge problem with the last buildup.  Accepting poor defense this early, especially from such a marginal player, doesn’t seem like the best idea.

Speed and baserunning should also be a priority (not so much thusfar).

Can someone actually show me how this is a "mark deficiency?"

Id rather keep Robert than trade him for Vientos.

It’s hard to show because a lot of post hype prospects never get a second chance after initial failures.  Vientos doesn’t really apply to what I’m talking about though.

That four prospect return could be interesting.   Though it's a huge downgrade over the Cincy deal this winter.

That’s 3.  They can keep Vientos and Acuna and I’ll take a LHH OF instead
