It's like all the experts here were talking tough that there was no way they would accept a package for Cease with Connor Norby or Joey Ortiz. They weren't the perfect combination of perfect for Cease, and if they were GM's they would slam down the phone in a special way that would frighten opposing GMs into relenting on their top prospects. Getz procured 2 of Boston's top 5 prospects, and you have bellyached they didn't get another one, preferably one of the 3 who are top 11 in the game. Dodgers tried to hone in his command and while it has improved some, just not enough to project him to anything more than a reliever at this point. So Dodgers are gonna send out two failed prospects? Sorry but Ortiz is awful. The first half of last season was a fluke. He’s been abysmal since, including a god awful 0/11 showing in the postseason. He turns 27 in July and is absolutely destined to be Nicky 2.0. I’m not saying that trade looks good for the Sox by any means but I’d still take Thorpe over Ortiz as the headliner in a Cease trade.
