It's 4/18/25 and the White Sox are out of the race.  What a disgraceful display of major league baseball  Our team would not be competitive at the AA level.  GM should have been fired last year.

Tell us something we do t already know

And who built and contributed to this situation in which what you say is likely true?

Jerry and Getz.

Yep. Which is why simultaneously the only path out is through MiLB and the lowest chance of success is these guys leading the development of the system.

Try bringing a critical sign to the ballpark. You'll have it confiscated faster than if you brought in a weapon. I think it does mean something to him so he shuts it down so he doesn't have to see it. Insular is certainly the right word.

If 30,000 show up one day and everyone has a sign, I’d love to see them try to confiscate them all.

Can always have a pack the park protest like A's fans last year.

JR would love the profits derived at least.

it's gonna be difficult to dig themselves out of the hole they're in because they'll have to rely on mostly homegrown talent (due to the fact that difference maker free agents aren't gonna come here if the next highest bidder is close to what the Sox are offering)

the Sox don't produce talent, who's the last prospect they molded into a strong major leaguer that wasn't a first round pick or acquired via trade

Yes the team is disgraceful but even worse is that ownership is content with this situation.

Fans that get all excited about unknown players and rebuilding are also content it seems to me. I'm old school. How long have the Bulls been rebuilding by the way? Rebuilds can last oh 15-20 years.

I am a youth movement guy by default. But these are generalities. It depends who is running the youth movement. Either way you prefer to build, it doesn’t matter if the architects are Moe Larry and Curly. People like to claim there is an actual smarter way to go one way or another. But there isn’t.

So what were you building around with the Sox?

I don’t think anyone is “excited” about rebuilding.

Tray was talking about how great this young and up and coming Bulls team was a couple weeks back, while trying to give props to Reinsdorf because of it.  🤣

Lol. Anything even remotely positive that happens with either of JR’s teams happens despite him, not because of him.

Just like in 2024. Mid-April and waiting for the season to end.

There are just no words to describe the state of the franchise, everything to be said has been said many many times on these and other White Sox forums, we have choices, living in Florida I’ve become a fan of the Rays but they aren’t in my DNA like the Sox but I’m so very close to giving up on a team that I have lived and died with for 73 years, sometimes as I’m watching loss after loss, tears come to my eyes but then I change gears and so much hate starts coming out of me for Reinsdorf and what he has done to our team. I just can’t see the franchise and team becoming legitimate contenders again as the man refuses to do what it takes to win in this day and age, when he hired Getz, that was the handwriting on the wall.
How much more of this can White Sox fans take, what is happening to the fan base, by the time this team can contend again, will there be any fans left that really care, I’m not sure.

Maybe you’re telling yourself that Crochet and Cease formed the core of a pitching staff to win with and build a team around. And that goes with Robert as well. But you’re ignoring the money and incompetence if you’re doing that.

If JR would give up baseball power and simply take a back seat to the majority ownership, he wouldn’t be able to take credit for a baseball resurrection. Either way it went with the baseball he won’t be having the opportunity to take any credit for a position outcome. But that’s how strong his craving for approval really is. He would rather take all this blame and anger at him in the present for a false  chance at getting credit for wins in the future

Surely Disney is lined up for the movie rights...will there be any White Sox fans left by then?

You might be right about losing fans. I'm sure you remember how bad the Chicago Cardinals were their last 10 years in Chicago. When they left to go to St. Louis not too many people cared. Losing year after year took a toll on their fan base.

I went to one of their last games in Chicago in 1959. After playing at Comiskey Park for years for some reason they played at Soldier Field for their last season in Chicago. After all these years and now being in Arizona I still have a very small spot in my heart for the Cards.
BTW Papa Bear Halas never did the Cards any favors when they were in Chicago.
