His defense was an issue in LA which is why he was so cheap. I will contend they could have gotten a better return if they were willing to wait. But honestly this is a nothingburger, we have bigger problems.

I would rather have Thaiss than Lee truth be told. Lee does have a fine arm though.

Just keep Lee and see if he matures a bit his arm is so good that imo you'd hate to give up on him because of a perceived roster crunch.

I used him at C against RHP since his secondary position was C. That’s why I remember it so well or it stuck out to me when Joe Maddon wanted him back at C. May 28, 2025May 28 Thaiss was useful to this team; and there are several teams with worse backup catchers than thaiss. Hard to see the reason to give him away like this.

The most recent timeline provided on Perez was 10 to 12 weeks back on May 2nd, which would give him a chance to make it back to the rotation by late July or early August. That would probably be cutting it too close for him to be dealt.
