Vaughn/Elko updates...

Make no sense to play 1st base.  Soon they will have guys in the pen play 1st base.

You are right, but at least I didn't suggest that he works out as catcher in Charlotte. My thought about trying Baldy at 1B was that he is an infielder so he could field grounders, he is a tall and flexible athlete that could reach to catch throws, and as far as his offense he had 3 HR and almost a 4th while he was up here. I think if he focused on hitting LH and maybe cut down on his swing after he has 2 strikes, he could boost his average.  He is also fast and would be a base stealer unlike some of the big guys.   This team is so bad, you have to think outside the box.

Does anyone really care if Vaughn can hit at AAA?  He is gone after this season so why would anyone want to have to watch him suck again?

  • Him not getting the call over Elko here is very telling

  • Don't think we really expected Elko to be this team's first baseman in 2025 and, aside from a hot month in AAA, he hasn't really done anything to earn that position. He hasn't sustained it in AAA afte

Let's save that nickname for Vaughn. I'm sure there are much better options for Brooks

Would you rather have Kyle Teel playing 150 games at 1B during a season or 120 games at C & DH?  I think his bat moving to 1B full time will result in a longer and more successfully offensive career.

Quero and Lee are your catchers.

September Lineup

C Quero/Lee

1B Teel

2B Meidroth

3B Vargas

SS Montgomery

LF Baldwin / Bum

CF Baldwin / Bum

RF Baldwin / Bum

DH Elko / Vaughn

He hath returned!

I'm hoping Elko is in the lineup the rest of the season. Hopefully he will show the organization he belongs on the team.

Yet another hip flexor injury to a White Sox player.

Vargo back to third.

Gotta think the epitaph for Vaughns Sox career is almost complete

What in the hell were these guys thinking bringing him back at $5.8M only to exile him in May. For an organization that is so stingy with money they sure do like to waste it constantly.

How has Vaughn / Elko been doing since being demoted?

Same question on Colston Montgomery.

Vaughn: .273/.333/.424 - .758 OPS

Elko: can't find milb splits, but he stunk after being sent back down for a bit and had been turning it back on lately

Montgomery: Stunk, went down to Arizona to get fixed, came back and was hammering the ball, had a couple bad games after that, then got hurt (hit by a pitch on his knee)

I like the waiver pick-up.  Former first round pick, only 25 years old, big and can touch 99. Really like this pick-up. The kind of roster churning that should be done. ERA under 3, 10k/9 in the minors last year as a reliever so i would think they leave him there. Similar profile to Burke so maybe they try him as SP. Seemingly needs to throw strikes

Looks like some of the pitching prospects that Getz acquired in his trades.
