Amazing

Was on the BA Hot Sheet as a helium guy recently too. He's an up arrow dude.

Rojas showing off that incredible range and defense he was signed for.

  • You keep playing so many minor league caliber players, you simply don’t deserve to win. This roster is so damn bad.  At least the minor league prospects are excelling lately….yuck

Another 1 run loss.

f*** Booser.  An uncharacteristically decent offensive performance ruined by one man.

I don't mind bringing in Booser as he's been one of our best relievers. But I have no idea why Venable left him in to pitch to Pozo. He was clearly not sharp, had no more good platoon matchups ahead of him, and he'd thrown a lot of pitches by then. And apparently Wilson was already loose. I think Venable was too worried about saving arms for game 2 and the rest of the week. Gotta win the game you're playing first.

You really can't say enough about how dumb this franchise is.

My guess is Venable doesn't make it to the next competitive Sox team

Most of us might not live that long.

The lack of slugging by the young guys is pathetic.  Meanwhile, the combo of Getz and Venable continues to be a debacle.

Teal has shown nothing.

Man booser is just bad

That trade never made sense.  You hope to get someone back with the potential of the guy he was traded for.

It’s still shocking to me how many people think him and Quero will hit good enough to DH.

I would not hate if Teel went back down for a bit.

I'd rather see Quero on most days, and Lee is a fine backup.

may all their fans choke via a provel clogged esophagus (minus my wife)

Yea they hit fine enough for C. They don't hit fine enough for DH.

As Hawk once said "They find another way,"

And I'll keep asking WTF are Slater, Rojas, Noda and Capra doing on this team?  Enough with the clown act, Getz.

Noda sucks

You make trades like that when competitive.

Lighter fluid pen

I didn't think Teel had done enough at Charlotte to earn the call-up but we'll see whether he can work through his contact problems in the majors. I don't know whether either one will hit "like a DH" but I think it's an acceptable plan to use the DH spot to get them at bats for the time being.

I like the group of young guys on the team to be honest, there just aren't enough of them yet. I would also agree that there's nobody who seems to have major star potential at or near the majors. You're going to want some of them one way or another (free agency, draft, trade, international FA) in the near future.

Trading young for old is usually a bad idea.

He also traded a young pitching prospect for Julks and a whole bunch of international $ for that Gonzales guy from the Astros AAA team.  Those are the sorts of lazy trades that Hahn used to do.   Of course Getz hasn't made any disasters, but I hate to see him pick up  bad habits.

They are desperate for offense, they need an impact bat in the worst way as they have nothing right now. You hope Braden Montgomery can turn into that but outside of him its pretty bleak.

Meidroth, Teel, Quero look like they could be solid guys but they need that big time guy in the worst way.

It’s why I don’t love 2 of our top hitting prospects to be Catchers.

Internally, seems like all the high-ceiling guys are in the low minors. That's not all that surprising if you look at it cynically...in the low minors you haven't had your terrible flaws exposed yet 🫣. But more optimistically, Braden Montgomery has some star talent, maybe a couple of those really young guys like Bonemer, Mogollon, Wolkow, but they've got a long road ahead before you can even say whether they'll ever get a look in the majors.

Colson Montgomery was once a high-ceiling guy but I think even the most optimistic case for him is looking increasingly mid-tier. I guess you could at least say the good version of him would involve some homers which the Sox aren't getting too much of at the moment.

This is so predictable.

Oh I already posted that in the 7th inning. Sorry

That was a bad loss. I don't know anything about our bullpen guys so won't assess blame. Back in the day when we blew a game the reliever was well known. Will the Sox win Game Two or lay down?

Longing for the days we don’t have to see guys like Rojas, Capra, Noda, Slater etc in this lineup any longer. Auto out city with zero future upside.
