Grandal will always be YOUR guy to me lol

I did love me a bat drop.

My favorite Grandal moment had to be when he was directing the other fielders by pointing with his glove and didn't see the baseball rolling through his legs to allow another run to score. Ah, good times.

There were, and still are, and abundance of issues with this franchise. But good God Pedro Grifol might actually be the worst manager in MLB history without exaggeration.

I know Hahn has become shorthand for blame around these parts, but to be frank what has changed since then?  It's been almost two years now, and you can only point the finger at so many soon to be ex-

So it never would have happened with Lou except the time it definitely happened with Lou.  Got it

there was a time he attacked one of his players in the locker room.  You'll get it.  It was when he managed the Reds.  It's is a trend in modern day sports where a manager or coach is now the tallest midget.  The smart ones know when it's time to quit.  The soap opera of the Sosa era was well hidden.

In a case like this, you need a front office who backs you up and gives a consequence to the offending player.  Suspension, send down etc.  But if you have half of the front office going one way, and the other half plotting a coup, meanwhile Jerry figuring out how to install his buddy in a power position, well you have seen how that works out.

That has been that way for a long time.  He values loyalty over performance.

Harold gives me a first hand glance into the incompetence of the white sox with his takes and opinions and im grateful for that. No one hates quants in baseball more than Harold.

This is what actually makes me believe he truly does work for the White Sox.

Lmao what.  You are just sayin stuff now

Fun interview, but nothing that we didn’t know already.  The simple reality is guys got super lazy under La Russa and that got even worse with Grifol since no one took him seriously.  Hahn didn’t really help matters either with all the early extensions (in hindsight) and then bringing in a bunch of assholes and red asses to stir things up.  Tim Anderson going insane was the final nail in the coffin.

Spot on, the hiring of TLR II followed by the hiring of Grifol  just about destroyed the franchise, we are still cursed with the ownership which will hopefully be rectified soon.
Even though we still are bad it’s encouraging to see the current players hustling and busting their butts, some credit has to be given to Venable and his staff as just a year ago we still had Grifol in the dugout with a lot of players with bad attitudes.

Not soon enough. Nothing really changes. Jerry effectively owns the team until he dies. We just know what’s going to happen post-Jerry now.

Terry Bevington must be thrilled that Grifol came along.

I would put a $1000 dollars on you being correct.

AJP’s Brian Anderson threat story was just as embarrassing.  WTF is wrong with this org?

The guy who owns it is the problem with this org.

Especially if it was Grandal because he sucked. He could have been released without hurting the team much.

They were way in front of the line to sign him.  I guess they didn't do enough homework.

Are we blaming Tony La Russa for Pedro Grifol's poor management again?

It was an honest question. the complete 180 on Hahn and Haber from @Harold's Leg Lift is fascinating. He used to be a big fan! Does asking this question violate rules on the board?

He's probably the most sensitive poster here. He can't handle the smoke, so he'll probably block you. I've wrecked him multiple times in debates so he blocked me (can't handle the smoke).

He moved from team Hahn to team Getz. He's a Chris Getz superfan. You'd think we have Andrew Friedman by the way he talks about it.

Harold was a big fan of Hahn in the past?  Not saying you are wrong, but I don’t remember that.

Agreed.  The way he talks about Hahn, Rick is the anti-Christ and Getz had zero pull or fault while being both the director of player development and the assistant GM for years.

Who is blaming La Russa for Grifol?

I mean he can stand on business. Fans don't like to be talked down to especially the knowledgeable ones here. As I said last week, I'm personally done trying to interact with him, but he can articulate why he thinks what he does at any time. He has chosen to remain in some gray zone as an obvious Sox employee but also a fan posting here.

Wait, Harold's Leg Lift is a Sox employee? I thought he was Tom Kelenic.

Speaking of not hustling, why the hell was josh rojas walking to first base after he hit into a double play on that hit and run attempt? I hate that guy so much.

Just because it's fun, I'm going to choose to believe TLR, in his capacity as a senior advisor or whatever, told him not to run hard.

Rick knew how to get respect from players, even if he was a mental wreck in the playoffs.

Harold blaming Hahn when he damn well knows the day to day accountability is driven by coaching and the Sox hiring LaRussa to sleep in the dugout removed any accountability from the players.

Renteria was such a 180 from Ventura in so many areas. I think his absence is still being felt,

No matter what you thought of his technical skills, the kids loved him and they played a much cleaner game than they do now.
