The Journey re-enactment with Crede, Rowand, and AJ was so bad, yet so funny.

Incredibly cheesy, haha.  I did like how modern day Podsednik was asking the young Crede, Rowand, and AJ actors what they were talking about in the re-enactment.

Also nice to hear DJ’s home run call again…

“Ohhh-myyy, that is three runs, BYE-BYEEE!!!”

🤣🤣🤣

In 2005, I remember thinking how pathetic it was that people still talked about the 1985 Bears. Well…

  • One of my buddy's(Cardinals fan) watched that game with Closed Captioning on and thought it was the funniest thing ever when the last out was recorded cause he just saw... YES YES  YES

  • They had a dominating run through the regular season and post season. They had a great/reliable rotation and a lineup that had all the pieces you need to be successful back then (good lead off man, 2

You somehow "forgot" (LOL) to include the other part of my comment about how good teams take advantage of the luck that goes there way and the Sox were a good team in 2005.

Funny enough, their Pythagorean W/L of 91-71 could have had them MISSING the playoffs in 05 had they not been on the right side of luck that year.

The 11-1 playoff run speaks for itself though, you don't luck into that against the best remaining teams in baseball.

Ozzie’s teams just had a way of beating projections and Pythagorean projections during the late 2000’s, from what I remember.

If you scroll past this video title really quick, and don't stop and read it, it can be mistaken for "We will never see the playoffs again" 😂

Why is it pathetic to think fondly about some past event in your life that you enjoyed and that countless other people from your hometown also enjoyed? I think it's pathetic when the Bulls/Sox keep trying to sell us all this 'glory days' merch 20, 30 years later to be sure when both teams are garbage, it seems tonedeaf, but of course we buy it because nostalgia is a powerful force. Is it "living in the past" to read a book about the 2005 team? Or is it just interesting and a fun hobby? I think it's pathetic when the organization does it, but reasonable and natural that regular people are into it, the org is simply taking advantage of this very human instinct to retain a memory about things that are culturally important. It's funny when it doesn't work though. Remember than Bulls 'Ring of Honor' clownshow in January 2024? Some nostalgic circlejerk about how great the Bulls were 30 years ago, then they brought out Jerry Krause's widow and the fans at the UC booed her and she started to cry. It was pretty unfortunate and all the media people raked Chicago fans over the coals, but how could the Bulls organization have expected anything different? The nostalgia cuts both ways, doesn't it, and nobody likes Krause or remembers him fondly; and the organization should've been been smarter about what might've happened before they humiliated that woman. Definitely an interesting moment where it wasn't all 'rosy' and 'fond memories', but nonetheless a compelling situation because people react pretty viscerally to sports and their memory of it. Should we care that much? I dunno, probably not, but we seem to and I think we all have a biased feeling on it if we're posting on a sports forum.

I think it's pretty cool that we remember this stuff, frankly, and the public responses are sometimes interesting. The Cubs World Series victory is a pretty memorable moment to me too, and I really dislike the team! On the merch, I think they should do a promo for the 83, 'winnin' ugly' team. Before my time, but what a cool team, and the merch is incredible. I want to wear this shirt but not pay $90 for it on ebay. Best uniforms too and it seems like they're wearing them less lately.

From June through September 1983 was a hell of a summer. We'd get WMAQ radio usually clear in Louisiana and when I'd get home from the TV station I was usually able to catch the last inning or two, or more if the Sox were on the west coast.

And yes I've got my Winnin' Ugly '83 T-Shirt framed and a hat from 83.

Love to hear that!

Love if Ozzie could do his famous wide and tall call for Bobby one last time...and then point both fingers at the sky.

I doubt that there will be another WSox world series for another generation or two ...  at least, so fond memories of the '05 playoffs and that parade downtown will continue to mean a lot for Sox fans. We finally won one and it was before the Cubs piled up 100+ seasons in this city without a WS championship.

DJ is better than Shriff imo

We put one of the worst PBP guys on TV, yet put one of the best PBP vets on radio.  It's good for me since I no longer get CHSN, but still, bad business imo.  Len doesn't have to be barred from doing postseason games, there's nothing stopping them from returning him to radio if we make October.  Len and Steve is an a1 pairing, it's foolish to keep them apart.  Plus, I think Shrif and DJ would have more rapport, imo.  But w/e, not my company, not my problem if they lose fans.

I don't buy Len's reason for leaving the flubs, I sincerely believe he did so because of Ricketts' views.  Idk if we can talk about that here, even tho there'd be no bias.  But I wonder if others here believe Len's ostensive reason.  I think he's lying, plus he acts weird about it every time he's confronted on it on X.  He's deleted so many tweets for no reason, too, just strange behavior.  Granted, he can never admit it if that's the case, so he's definitely in a bind.  Does anyone else here feel he left the North because of his personal views and principles, rather than his "playoffs" reason

That guy seems way too nice to be Cooper

any word on why Rowand wasn't there? He was the only starter missing I believe

The toast to Bobby Jenks was pretty awesome, well done

One thing that doesn't get mentioned enough is the Sox started the season with Shingo Takatsu as closer who got released and replaced by Dustin Hermanson.  Hermanson had 34 saves but wore out/injured around mid Aug.  Jenks came up from AA in July.  Only had six regular season saves.  Not sure many modern era teams went through three primary closers in a championship season.

I watched the replay of Buehrle's perfect game on CHSN, that was awesome.

Hawk, "call your sons, call your daughters, call your friends, call your neighbors."  Sorry, all you Hawk haters out there I loved the call.

Kenny Williams also wasn't there from the story in the Tribune today.

I went on X and looked up his name and saw Rowand on a podcast explaining. I guess last year he had to cancel a trip with friends because of airline issues so he got a credit that lasted a year so they booked another trip with friends for the weekend before knowing the Reunion dates and couldn't switch it.

I kind of would want to see a statue of Ozzie hitting or fielding as well as a statue  of him as manager.  He deserves both imo
