Wow, a 1-0 win. Well played ballgame except with the boner by M.Taylor.

Let's win the series tomorrow.

Interesting if there was a possible rule violation

I just saw the replay twice. Catcher is entitled to catch the ball and no way was he intentionally blocking the plate, Taylor just failed to touch the plate.

Third game this year the Sox have won by a score of 1-0.

By the way the Sox have played 83 games so far, in 50 of them they have scored three runs or less. That's 60% of all games...that's bad but for the Sox that's actually an improvement, for most of the season they've been around 65-68%

Never thought that was possible.  I get them scoring 1 but a combined shutout makes think that 3 was not possible,

I see the vision now, MAT missed scoring on purpose to help out the Sox record in 1 run games.

And he was just being fair after Wisely wasn't so wise getting picked off 3rd on a strike 3 pitch . Rare DP and Uber rally killy.

Leave DeWayne Wise outta this.  He made a sweet catch one time.

You know it's possible after looking at it on the post game show Taylor did have to go around the catcher because he did have a foot in foul territory before he had the ball.

If I was Venable I would've challenged that play based on interpretation of the blocking home rule . Nothing to lose at that point in the game.

A runner going full speed canot change direction in the middle of a slide nor correct his running path  once the catcher steps into foul territory. He had to go around the catcher . The only question is how they interpret the rule which usually says something about having the ball before you block the plate, which he did not .

Because he is a 19 year old with a very high power tool that can probably stick in center field and could possibly be ready to go in 27/28. Would be a nice get for a complete bum in Robert and a guy you literally picked up off the scrap heap a month ago.

We must be looking at 2 different things. Catcher was in the base path . He stepped into foul territory without the ball. Intentional or not he caused the runner to alter his path wider than it should have been which was why he couldn't reach the plate.

One way to cut down on so many close losses in the 8th and 9th innings is to have a legitimate Closer.  Too early to tell right now but the Sox might have found one. The pitch sequence to Devers including the change-up for strike 3 was special.

are you guys ok with these 3:10 Saturday starts.  Used to be 6pm every Saturday, followed by fireworks.  I know fireworks was moved to Fridays, but that's no reason for moving up Saturday times.  Should be night games IMO. We've had more day games this season than night so far, which is weird.  I don't think they're being forced to by FOX, are they

On that note, weeknight games should be 7pm, no need for 6:40 anymore now with the pitch clock.  If 7:10 is too late, 7 on the dot would be fine.

For me I dig the 3:10 Saturday starts. I can get all my yard work/ chores done for the most part and then watch the game.

it will only get better when the Sox start kicking ass and taking names, oh yeah.

Wilson can close.  He’s having a good year and saves will gussy-up his trade value.  Just get Taylor ready to start next season.

Too bad Capra can’t hit, even just a little.  Nifty glove.

Based on what?  The guy has two saves in his entire life.  Taylor is doing great right now and Wilson has been excelling on the relief roles he has.  Leave it be for now
