The atmosphere is definitely a factor.

I have not watched the Sox much last month or two, but why is Vargas playing so much 1B? I mean the obvious reason is AV is gone, but Vargas looked really good at 3B earlier in the year and is sooo much more valuable to the future of the org as a 3B. I really hate it.

He was really bad at 3b for a month or so

Vargas absolutely sucks fielding 3rd.  He was leading the majors in errors at that position before they moved him. He couldn't even make the throw consistently.  

Vargas double. Slump over.

Alright. Like I said, haven't watched much lately. Must've happened quick because he looked pretty solid over there in April and May. 

Misses on curveball and slider low.

59.4 EV lol catcher's interference is definitely a unique way to start your big league career.

Vargas's lead off double squandered.  Why he didn't make it a triple, I dunno.  Unless it's the thin air.  But it would be 1-0 if he had.

If Sosa is sticking around, and he's making the case, I get it. 

Unless Elko can pull the strikeout rates way, way down, they don't have a first baseman.

That being said, I figured they'd like up the infield like Colson-Meidroth-Sosa-Vargas, especially since Bryan Ramos is suffering from the "got called up to Chicago early, failed, and can no longer hit in Charlotte" phenomenon.

Moniak now exactly at an 800 ops.

Montgomery looking good on two routine plays so far.  That's saying something with this team.

I don't understand why they don't call up Lee, make him a backup, and then have Quero-Teel rotate at catcher and DH

They really should call up Lee and jettison Noda so those guys can both play most days since theyve made it obvious they don't want to risk losing the DH.
