He's one of a group of guys a team will feel more comfortable having at the end of the bench in a playoff game than Cam Devanney. Or Vinny Capra. I don't think Rojas gets traded. They probably DFA him late in August. But I believe this is what his value is. AAA depth. Wouldn't it make more sense to DFA Rojas on around September 1st when rosters expand? Sorry, I mis-read your post regarding the timing of his potential release. Agreed.
Chicago White Sox
1 hour ago, wegner said: I disagree on moving Sosa personally...I don't think Meidroth is the answer for anything short or long term while Sosa could be. I like Sosa but he is limited defensively and has zero plate discipline (and hasn’t shown any real improvement this year). I certainly wouldn’t give him away, but if someone was willing to give me say an OF of similar value I’d probably make that trade. The chances of him being more than a role player or second division regular are fairly slim and he can only play a position that we are loaded at. As for Meidroth, he’s a quality defensive player who can handle SS and has two elite skills in his contact ability and plate discipline. His ceiling will be limited if he can’t provide some impact when hitting the baseball, but I still see a 2 win floor at maturity and I fully expect more impact when it’s all said and done. If a high ceiling prospect comes along and pushes him to the bench then so be it, but he’s one of the more productive players we have at the moment in his current state. 1

Yes, I would agree with that 1

I couldn't click on the ad seemingly on my tablet. If I see it again I'll take the time to screenshot it.

WestEddy
Not a rumor!!! The Braves have acquired RHP Dane Dunning from the Rangers for RHP José Ruiz and cash considerations. — Mark Feinsand (@Feinsand) July 18, 2025

Falstaff
If Robert is traded, POOF, I fully believe he finds his stroke and becomes a force. Sosa has me thinking of the next Eduardo Escobar type talent to be traded off.
Kyyle23
I just wish Sosa could field better because he seems to have the league ready bat

Man, some of you just don't get that Burke has a chance to be really good. His stuff is better then Dunning. Don't sell cannon short either as a productive 4 or 5 for many years

Probably could have used him in that playoff series the year before we traded for him though. That was a top funny one for me. Another good one was the Padres are near bankruptcy and can't afford Manny Machado.

They are both mid rotation ceilings IMO. Very similar to Dunning indeed. None of something that is great, but they are decent and seem to suck up innings in general.
GreenSox
I think Sosa will hit; he also isn't the FO prototype and I think it's healthy to have a few players who are not the prototype especially for this unproven FO. I hope they keep him (absent, obviously an overpay) I think they'll move him with any decent offer because he isn't the prototype.
