Man there is no way I let Adrian Houser face the Cubs on Friday.

Sure doesn’t seem like a wise decision to let him face the #2 team in the MLB in runs scored, but that’s assuming a trade can be worked before the deadline.

1 game behind the best record in baseball and 7 runs off of the highest scoring team in baseball.

Houser, even with how great he's been so far, is allowing over 8 H9 and isn't a strikeout pitcher. This is a recipe for disaster when you are days away from moving him.

It's only a matter of time before we start seeing pitchers with helmets and possibly even mask cages. Personally, I'd like to see it implemented before someone gets permanent brain damage or killed. It might not be the sexiest thing but it will save lives.

Considering a pitcher has never been killed on the field in the history of baseball in the modern era (since 1900) your suggestion is a little extreme in my opinion.

But imagine if he shut them down.

The Blue Jays had a pitching prospect (Huck Flener) get hit in the eye back in the 90's. Exploded his eye.

Balls are also flying off bats at a much faster speed than ever in the history of the game. And because we are talking about possible life or death, no I don't think it's extreme. The whole reason base coaches wear them is because a coach was killed by a line drive.
