They have missed out on all the big targets so far. Hoyer is getting played by the market right now. Should have made some moves days/weeks ago.

That seems like a really low return unless the prospect rankings are way off and those guys all made major moves up the list.

“Seattle did not need to dip into its deep well of top prospects, though Locklear is a major league-ready first baseman who should occupy the position as Arizona retools for 2026. I didn’t think the Cubs would go after him.  Small sample size but Matt Shaw has over a 1.000 OPS post All-Star break.  I think they are sticking with him.  Maybe they acquire a lesser bat as insurance.

I don’t know.  Locklear and a couple pitchers wouldn’t be an awful return for Robert.  A #9 ranked prospect in a very strong farm system.  He has really turned it on this year with the bat.  Negatives are that’s he isn’t a lefty bat and he’s already turning 25 in November but the Sox could sure use a 1B with power.  Locklear also has one more year of control than Vientos — FA in 2031 rather than 2030.  He would more than likely be starting at 1B for the Sox immediately.

Locklear has been red hot in AAA, but honestly this one feels like AZ doing Seattle a solid.

Suarez is a 34 year old rental player, I think the return is fine.
