The fact we have a chance to match our 2024 win total on August 1st is absolutely insane. I think last years team took 5 years off my life

26 ABs without a K for Sosa, second longest active streak after Arraez I believe

I know it’s an unpopular opinion here, but the lineup legit looks good.

The team might be bad overall with plenty of flaws, but they are at least watchable with all the kids. There's reason for hope.

I still want plenty of losses, a high draft pick and the huge pool that comes with it though.

They are identifying profiles and finding what works for each guy. It’s awesome.

I thought it was gone too. outfielder almost bobbled it out

ala Dom Fletcher last year.

i'd rather see Baldwin whiffing there :(

Still far more aggressive than the average MLB'er, Lenyn has brought his chase rate down to a playable level since the early part of this season

Too many lefties, or so I thought.

Michael Taylor can go now. Just bring up Danger.

I get it. You're probably more of a Bloodhound Lil Jeff listener.

Exactly 🤣

Tommy Lasorda didn't even curse that much when asked how he felt after Dave Kingman hit 3 HR in a game against the Dodgers in that famous rant.

Adell and Moncada with surprisingly high ops numbers.

So do I, but I am worried that we will pass a couple teams in the standings when it’s all said and done.  Just got to hope we can end up top three or so.  Would be nice to have one final draft with a big pool before a run of sustained success.

it was a smart decision to shut smith down with the uh, "sprained ankle"

Shane accepted the assignment

Smith down to a 4.07 era.

Might get one more inning out of him.

Another fun stat for Lenyn: as of late, his contact rate on pitches outside the zone is about equal to the league average rate on pitches inside the zone

For the season overall, Lenyn is one of three Sox in MLB's top 30 best chase contact rates (Chase Meidroth, Miguel Vargas)

Might get 2. Only at 67 pitches and finding his groove

Lol.

Moncada has a .450 SLG so far this year, only a .321 OBP though which is being brought down by his BA

Tyler Anderson and Alexander...

I also think that some of the foundational investments are finally bearing fruit on the offensive side of things.  These are some of the best at-bats I have seen in a long time and we know they are getting guys to pull & lift more than ever before.  For the entire Rick Hahn era it was clear that we had some of the worst advanced scouting in the sport and we have heard stories that our coaching & development staffs really didn’t have plans for these guys at the plate.  Feels like we might finally be a semi-competent organization 😳

yea i've noticed it he's gotten fucked on bad calls a couple times deep in counts the last month. he's improved as hitter, now finally above that 100 wRC+ mark. Problem is he stinks in the field.

Yep. He's not really replacing his Ks with walks, more working counts to get pitches he can hit whether in or out of the zone.
