  • In all honesty - as much as it stinks - most of the young players did well at the plate and the pitchers like Smith did good - other ones who aren’t part of the long haul drove the loss.

  • I truly think that kid could end up being a star but they need to stick him in one spot on the field and leave him there so he can get better at that position.  Moving him all over does him no favors

Chase with a great play, Smith really gutted it out tonight.

6 runs enough for the pen?

Got any Ashville brewery recs? There's so many, but if you only could go to one as a tourist which one? I'll be there in a couple weeks. First time back in the Appalachians since a road trip to NOLA a decade ago and that was just crossing them driving, pretty excited.

Ashville sounds pretty nice, a proper mountain town.

I can see this coming, will be just like last night, try to squeeze more out of Smith than he has, will be a 3 run game in no time. I get trying to squeeze more innings, but man it also can just tax the pen more than if you just went to them initially.

Great play!

Colson makes that play look effortless as a gifted elite athlete, meanwhile the mad man chase stretches every inch of his 5-10 frame, then intentionally spikes the throw to give him an easy hop. Bro I kinda enjoy some of these players.

Tell you what Vargas makes some nice scoops at first

That's my special little boy out there!

Crazy how Dunning and the Fat man both just sorta had 2 good seasons or so and then sucked.

Thats an easy one though long one hop off to the side.

I’m amazed. A big offensive effort is usually followed by two hits off a junk baller the next day.

I seem to remember some time last year people crying about Dane Dunning.

Remember when the scouting reports said Meidroth was somewhere between complete butcher and barely adequate for 2B only?

Are you driving there? Still tons of road work from Hurricane Helene.

Terrible strike 3 on Luis to punish him for having a good approach today

It was a stupid trade even if it sorta didn't really mean jack s%*# for either team in the long run. Dunning as an asset against Lynn was always a stretch, and it only made sense if CHicago was ready to win and than spend, neither happened to any real degree. So yea, it still bothers me a bit.

New Belgium (technically out of Colorado but they have a 2nd brewery in Asheville) is my favorite. Actually drinking Voodoo Ranger right now but they also do Fat Tire. Wicked Weed is the other big one. I think there are some other small ones but i'm not too familiar with them. If you are a history/architecture nerd make sure you check out Biltmore. I don't know how much time you have but Great Smoky Mountains (+Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge) is a <2 drive west and Sugar Mountain, Banner Elk, Blowing Rock, and Boone (awesome college baseball stadium) <2 drive north. If you are a degenerate like myself there is also a big Cherokee casino in the Native American reserve about an hour west.

I got a buddy that lives in the area, he's got us all set up. It's nice having friends in various parts of the country. we got a whole spread for labor day weekend, like 20 acres or some s%*# up in the mountains outside town.
