Saturday at 07:02 PM3 days Mune is running the lowest BABIP of any of these guys, which I would expect to normalize eventually when more of his non-HR contact starts falling for hits. But there is something a little funny about a rookie hitting his first grand slam before his first double lol
Sunday at 12:15 AM3 days The one he hit today, where his lower body was way out ahead and he basically just flipped at it and hit it out to left center, was among the most impressive displays of power I can remember seeing.

Sunday at 11:54 PM2 days apparently he's a DHWEST SACRAMENTO -- White Sox designated hitter Munetaka Murakami has done it again. The 26-year-old Japanese slugger homered for the third consecutive game on Sunday, matching the impressive achievement he enjoyed when making his MLB debut this season, while leading the White Sox to a 7-4 win in the rubber game against the A’s at Sutter Health Park. Monday at 02:07 AM2 days The individual HRs were so fun that I'm still processing the bigger picture of Mune going 5-12 with 3 HR, 3 BB (5K), 7 RBI in the series lolAnd two of the homers were off LHP
Monday at 04:22 AM2 days Sucks that he'll be gone before the team is competing. Would be awesome if they could figure out an extension before free agency, albeit very unlikely. Would be great to have a Japanese star long-term. They adore baseball over there. Edited Monday at 04:26 AM2 days by ron883
Monday at 04:57 AM2 days He's been struggling with sliders and offspeed early, but he has a good eye and doesn't chase so he forces fastball counts by getting ahead. And contrary to the offseason worry, he just demolishes fastballs. He's hitting .250 and slugging .750 against them, and that's underperforming his expected stats of .311avg/.834slgIf he improves vs. breaking stuff even a little, he'll be such a challenge to pitch to.

Anyone one before him or posing a threat to hit after him makes pitchers sweat just that much more. And he's no burner but has better speed underway than a lot of guys in that high HR%/BB% archetype. He's more capable of going first to third or scoring from second on a single than a Schwarber for example. Currently ranked 6th in sprint speed for 1B, around league average overall.

It seems like he's a guess hitter sometimes which with his stroke is absolutely fine. Same with Colson. Swing hard in case you hit it. Rather that approach then watching strike three go by like Moncada. If you have a good left handed swing, swing the bat! Edited Monday at 05:45 PM1 day by chitownsportsfan
