Bob Sacamano
I don’t see how they don’t trade a lefty reliever.

WestEddy
More spending from the White Sox: They signed left-handed reliever Sean Newcomb to a one-year, $4.5 million deal, per the team. That's two deals in the last couple days after the signing of Munetaka Murakami. Newcomb was arguably the best left-handed reliever left on the market. — Jeff Passan (@JeffPassan) December 23, 2025 Edited Tuesday at 04:15 PM by WestEddy

Lukakke Appling
I like that he can throw multiple innings. He wasn’t too far off from the Vasil-line. And now i think I’m gonna start calling Vasil “Vaseline”. He’s white, seems like he’s down for a good time.
caulfield12
Pitched well against the Rays. No RS in 4 outings covering 7 2/3 IP. Good recommendation by Carlos Rodriguez/East Coast scouts.

Chicago White Sox
Wow, love this move. He’s been pretty mediocre for the past few years, but made significant changes to his repertoire last season and the results show. This really strengthens the left-side of the bullpen for us. Still think we should add a legit high leverage guy to the mix.
Bob Sacamano
I think most of his starts are of the “opener” variety. Like him better in pen than rotation. Edited Tuesday at 04:27 PM by Bob Sacamano

Timmy U
Hate this move, but influenced by how the Sox bombed him last year. Old guy whose stuff has ticked way down. Might work out, but if it doesn’t, gonna be unwatchable and uncuttable.
chw42
1.7 fWAR last year in 92 innings, which is a lot for a reliever. I think he was a multi inning opener for Boston. BABIP was .344 and he still put up good numbers, so this wasn't all just a lucky year. Definitely came up out of nowhere last year, but it's a great signing for $4.5 million. 1

He also has 2nd percentile extension, which is kind of funny.
southsider2k5
Just now, chw42 said: I'd rather they waste $4.5 million than trade for guys like Booser with 19 year old prospect. This right here. I have no idea what he will bring, and what role they put him in, but not replicating the mistakes of the past for a cheap arm is the most important part. It puts another guy into the mix for a team that sorely needs good innings, well, everywhere. At the very least, he should help a pen that really, really needs it. The Cubs even left him off their NLDS roster.
