Canning is coming off an achillies tear

Signing a pitcher coming off a serious injury, what could possibly go wrong

Nothing because he'd be low risk. This would be a good add who has had a few decent seasons.

He doesn’t have a history of eating innings though and it’s a significant injury he’s recovering from. Unless they sign him as an upside play and someone really cheap like Patrick Corbin as well.

Nothing is surprising about this.  I doubt the Sox add another significant free agent pitcher.

I also doubt the Cubs nab either Bregman or Bichette.  Hoyer will cheap out and stick with Shaw and it’s probably the wise move anyways.

Corbin is 36 years old.  He isn’t getting any better or healthier turning 37 in July.  The guy hasn’t been a productive pitcher since 2020.  Hard pass.

I don’t want Corbin either but I feel like they need a veteran who can eat innings.

He threw 170 in 2024. I don't think they'd be signing him as anything but an upside play. They'll probably grab up another couple of this type.

Guess they’re not in the B-tier shopping bin of arms anymore

Who knew that My Life on the D LIst was also about the Sox shopping habits?

What an atrocious savant page too. Outside of the elite GB% it's A LOT of blue... and even that seems like a huge outlier compared to the rest of his career.

He's had one OK year in his career but wouldnt be shocking if this was his last big league contract.

Probably low cost and maybe he can eat some innings.

But do want to say he's on my "this guy stinks" list.

How do I subscribe to your "this guy stinks" list?.....it's nice to stay informed of what our next bullpen might look like.

Good line. Funny how during the dregs years the Sox always go hunting for bodies in the bullpen this time of year.

Preller striking late in offseason two years in a row trying to hit mother lode at bargain bin prices.

Pivetta deal was Feb 17th, 2025, Sheets on Feb 10th.  Kyle Hart on Feb 13th.

Padres signed German Márquez and Castellanos as well.  Stealing all the bargain binners.

Preller just did the type of dumpster diving I wish Hahn and Getz did.
