Meanwhile, both Peters and Kelenic are producing. You also have Grichuk and Hays sill eventually be back.

But still, with his speed, he could become the everyday Sox CF. I don’t think you can give up on him.

If Kelenic gets hot as the plate, I could see Ant, Pereira and Kelenic being the starters. Hays, Peters, Hill on the bench. The only thing saving Acuña right now is he's the only backup IF.

They still have gaps in their depth where somebody can come in and get playing time if they pick up and produce, like Kelenic. But the days of letting a guy fester with a .453 OPS for months of at-bats are behind us.

Dude is going through hell right now and not hitting remotely like he's shown he can in the past, but they need him up so he's on the roster. But Romo is out performing him, so now Quero is sitting on the bench and we know is getting sent down once Teel comes up.Over the last two years, Quero is getting the reps. This year he's sitting until they can send him down.I think things would be different if Acuna had options.

If their only similarity is that they struggled in their initial debuts, then buckle up because most guys who do that, end up out of baseball more often than the do as a good hitter.

Honestly as the 26th man you can do worse. Just don't play him more than once a week.

Rather see see Sam move back into the IF with Chase over to SS if Colson is off.

There are still going to be guys who come up and need to adjust to the league and whatnot, but the team as a whole is past that stage. They're starting to take the next step to being a competitive team on a daily basis, and there's no time or room at this point to let someone "figure it out". If Acuna wants to prove he can be a viable everyday player then he needs to start showing that when he gets playing time.

Wouldn't surprise me to see the same lineup again today as previous two. We are trying to win, development for a guy like Acuna doesn't really matter a hoot at this point. He's clearly a backup at best without a massive true talent jump and in his mid 20s unlikely. Same with Kelenic but Kelenic has caught some lighting in a bottle and we can just ride it until it fades.
