Yeah, every team looks bad when getting swept by the best team in the NL.

This is not the best team in the NL no matter how many times you say. If you feel that way go make yourself rich with Brewers futures.

  • Just waiting for Reinsdorf to leave this earth

  • hey, at least we’re hurting the Cubs and Montgomery and Murakami had good games.

  • You score 7 and lose. It's a curse. Won't be lifted until the Reinsdorf name is out of the picture

What drives me nuts is why isn’t Taylor being developed as the closer. We all know he’s never going to be a starter.

I think using him as their highest leverage reliever rather than a traditional closer is the right call

Granted that's not the role he was used in this series, but it's what I would do moving forward

how long until we hear about someone getting slapped in the locker room after another loss

Two questions-

Why is the audio so bad?

It was this bad for the pre-game too. Even our broadcasts taking the L

I turned it off when it was 7-2 thinking they had it. I got a notice they scored then turned it back on to see bases loaded with 1 out and was like oh boy here we go.

That is a tough tough spot for Dominguez there but as the closer when you get that popout you gotta get that last out and get outta that inning with the lead

The Sox need someone to make excuses for them. We already know that Jerry doesn’t care.

this entire thread reminds me of the post michael jordan bulls when i argued with a wizards fan because they only beat us by 30.

You get what you pay for.

Same with Schiffren vs. Benetti...

"Luck is the residue of design" - Branch Rickey.

Defensive positioning is an important past of baseball situations as well. I have no idea how the Sox stack up in this regard compared to other teams, I don't know if there is a metric for something like this, but that also can be a factor.

I appreciate what you are saying but to me it rings hollow. This organization seems to have terrible "luck" in a lot of areas and I'm sorry that's letting people off the hook.

At some point you are what your record says you are. And at least the last decade (although I go back to 2007) the Sox have basically been atrocious.

That's not all "luck."

Grifol used to complain that he had to use FO data for positioning.

The Brewers were in the NLCS last year. They scored one run in each game. LA pitching was just too much. However, they've been there. They are composed and are constantly making their own luck. Yes, "at some point", the Sox' record will say what they are. That doesn't happen after 3 games against the team that just had the best record in the game last year.

Throwback to Carlos Zambrano’s infamous quote.

At least give him SOMETHING defined.

It's really since 2012. 08/10/12 all solid/entertaining seasons compared to this crap.

Then 2020-21.

One temporary blip up.

I just feel the start of the downward slope of this franchise started that season. They had one of the worst months (June if I remember right in franchise history) and it all went to hell.

In 2008 they came very close to urinating the division away, needed an extra game to win it. In 2010 they had a lead in August then the bullpen fell apart, in 2012 they had a three game lead with 16 to go. You saw how that turned out as they lost 11 of 16.

we have winning is a habit vs. losing is a habit

I still think pens are overrated when it comes to spending money.

Sox just need to go old school (early 20th century) with starters. You're in there for at least 7 win or lose. Pens get exposed when starters go 5. It's not like this team is going to win many games. Leave your starters in for 7 and maybe they figure it out.

That's my bizarre thoughts anyway.......don't forget I put in bizarre.

I'm shocked how much people liked seranthony. The idea this is a plus bullpen is not something I saw.

I don't think dominguez is bad, but he's a 7th inning arm in a good pen.

Taylor the only + arm on the staff imo.

And they're not an 82 win team regardless of how many betting lines you look up. Betting lines represent the point at which they can get impulsive losers to empty their pockets, thinking they're the smartest people in the world.

zambrano would probably be better at fielding than benintendi and a better hitter than half the team.

You can sign an actual star player for what the Sox are paying Dominguez + Benetendi. It's just unbelievable how bad they are at using the limited financial resources that are actually available to spend.

The pitching is bad, but geez it’s a 7-3 game even a bad bullpen can usually save that one.

The Brewers are good for sure, probably not the best team in the NL though especially missing a key player like Andrew Vaughn.

I’ve seen enough, this is the same team as it’s been. Bad managerial decisions, bad defense, bad in clutch moments.

Only thing I care about now is the kids progression and seeing the prospects come up.

Probably the first time you can sneak past security.

Taylor hasn't even proven that he can get MLB hitters out yet. His stuff kinda plays down. I kinda want him to do well as a setup man before trusting him to close.

he'd probably beat up a pen guy for blowing a lead.

Can't do that with more worst rotation in mlb.

Maybe 2005/06 White Sox.

Even then, pitching staff wore down second half of 2006.
