Cubs claim Doug Nikhazy from White Sox

Featured Replies

Getz has a crippling addiction to mediocre left handed relief pitchers

Bannister certainly has a type. Still haven't exactly seen anything positive with these type of moves, but Nikhazy was a top 30 prospect for the Guardians a few years back.

Keep churning this crappy bullpen until guys are ready. This is the way.

No offense to Bannister and this organization (half joking) but Cleveland is of the best organizations when it comes to developing pitching. If they are releasing a guy, I doubt many organizations will find a winning lottery ticket there.

Wheels on the bus go round and round, round and round.

Power shift

Does anyone love lefty relievers more than Getz? It seems to be his fetish as this point. At least he isn’t trading actual prospects for them this time around.

This right here. Churn the waiver wire for marginal lefties like the rest of baseball.

So long Doug, we hardly knew ye.

Did not even know they tried to sneak him through waivers.

My question is what move is incoming that they feel the need to clear a roster spot?

CHURN BABY CHURN, ROSTER INFERNO,

CHURN BABY CHURN, BURN THIS MUTHA DOWN

This move is even more puzzling to me considering Murray and Thorpe are both easy 60 day designations. Are they just being cheap?

Churn some more butter.

Getz apparently paid by the transaction ... like a mutual find manager chasing the S&P like Wiley E. Coyote after the Road Runner.

Nikhazy had to be put through waivers before the Murray injury, right? Maybe they're really loathe to put Thorpe on the 60-day.

How dare the Cubs steal our crap from us. Let’s pay them back by claiming crappy Ben Cowles again!

Nikhazy might not make the Hall of Fame, but his suitcase will.
