The Power or Precise Progress - Duncan Davitt's Journey

Go Hawkeyes!!!

Fun fact: Davitt also moonlights for his hometown local paper:

So however his debut goes, we'll probably get to read about it.

Former Hawkeye basketball star Chris Street's hometown...passed away in 1993 in a tragic snowplow collision.

Hopefully he can get them a basic 6 inning, no 40 pitch innings, outing.

The revolving door continues, frequent flying miles are adding up.

Wish him well….but man this roster is in rough shape

Sox are doing the "smart" thing and holding back their better players until they grab the extra year/delay arbitration. I mean, on merit, you'd bring up Schultz and Antonacci right now. But the Sox would never do that cuz money. So we get Harris and Davitt. Then magically around April 18th, Schultz will have matured enough to be ready for the bigs. It is so tough even casually rooting for a team that does not give a single crap about winning. That's why Getz wouldn't talk about W-L in the offseason. He knew they'd be sandbagging at least the first month of the season, if not more. I hope the labor unrest ends this stuff because it is depressing.

Especially with Detroit on the precipice of 4-9 and a four game sweep at the hands of the Twins.

Anyone in the division but the Sox could win or at least get the wild card.

Twins have already had an MLB leading 36 at bats with the bases loaded somehow this season.

3-1 Twins/8th inning.

This guy in the Smashing Pumpkins aol chatroom in the 90s used to talk about his time in the Cubs farm system and he was a douchebag.

Not sure I understand the logic of bringing Schweitzer up for a day only to option him for Eisert. Why not just bring up Eisert yesterday?

Schweitzer was fresher. I think they're going to bounce a few guys around if starters can't start eating innings.

But each time you send a dude down he can't come back up for something like 15 days and there's now a limit how many times you can option a guy. Just seems unnecessary to call up a dude for one night.

Sure, but again, they're just trying to get to the point where the starters are getting stretched out and regularly going 5+ innings. Schweitzer, Davitt, those guys are fungible.

The last 2 1/2 years are also fungible.

Let’s be honest, Getz is throwing s%*# at the wall already two weeks into the season. That’s how bad Getz built this roster. Your starting rotation should not need to be dissected two weeks into the season. That’s called failure.
